Birth Story wins the Audience Award!
We were shocked and more than a little teary-eyed when we were called up to accept the Audience Award for Feature Documentary Film at the LA Film Festival on Sunday--who knew when we started this project that audiences would respond so enthusiastically and that you all would be so motivated to help us get this film out into the world?! It's been a long journey, and like all filmmakers, we have endured a lot of "nos" along the way, so this is a BIG HUGE YES, and it helps us to understand even more deeply than we did before how important it is that this film be seen by the largest possible audience. We are emboldened and excited!
To top it all off, over 740 of you have donated to this campaign. We have raised nearly 54K! And we still have 22 days to go--so we have taken a deep breath, broadened our goals, and committed ourselves to raising another 40K by July 18th--the additional funds will help us hire the support staff we need to ensure that the film reaches every corner of Planet Earth!
To that end, WE HAVE ADDED A NEW REWARD to help incentivize new donors (and donors who wish to increase their pledges). For $60, donors will receive the DVD, an official Birth Story button, and a LIMITED EDITION YOUR BODY IS NOT A LEMON POSTER, 14x22, signed by the directors and screen printed from the historic Colby printers in LA.
You are the best about spreading the word to friends--please keep it up! Let them know they can get a DVD, an educational license for ongoing screenings in classroom environments, and now a collector's item LEMON poster all at the link below:
Meanwhile, we want to share with you a little taste of what it was like last week at the World Premiere of Birth Story! This video was shot by dear friends Jessica Collins and Jenae Wilkens--two fans of Ina May's, who wanted to help us out. Wish all of you could have been there with us!
Sending love and continued amazement at your generosity,
Sara and Mary
