Film on how the life & death of my 29-yr-old daughter is transforming us through grief: searching for beauty and community amidst loss.
The campaign project is to create a film of at least 30 minutes on how my daughter's life and death affected and transformed those who knew her.
Corey Considine was a massage therapist, faithful friend, herbalist who invented healing beauty balms, and a painter who created the goddess image used in this campaign.
The campaign covers primarily travel expenses from North Carolina to California, Maryland, Virginia, and throughout NC to videotape interviews with folks who knew and loved Corey, as well as videotaping a few subject matter experts on death and transformation, costs to set up the video download and DVDs for your rewards, shipping, etc. We want to do justice to the subject of love, death, and transformation. I am using my own Canon XHA1 prosumer camera.
Corey created this goddess painting over the past two years and we are so happy to use it on UV-resistant stickers and postcards as your rewards.
Meeting the goal allows us to make the film. Going over the goal allows me to devote more time to the film, spend more time with folks who knew and loved Corey, working with our sense of loss and transformation, and going more deeply into researching, writing, and videotaping interviews for the film.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
I have already printed the goddess postcards and stickers, and the video I posted here for this project is at the root of this film I plan to create. Risks I guess would be if my 3-year-old MacPro died on me (which is where I edit video) or if my Canon XHA1 developed issues, as they are the key pieces of gear critical to making this video. If either of those happened, I can promise you I would find a way to get another camera (a newer model) and I would replace the MacPro with another computer. Other than that, it's just my time, and my life for the next several years is going to focus on working with all that has come to us through Corey's life and passing.
