Let's take a peep behind the curtain, Dorothy.
Today we wanted to show you how we go about doing our facial animation. We're very keen to hand animate as much as possible, however there is quite a lot of dialogue to plough through so we're forced to work quite quickly! Below you'll see a 20 minute tutorial video I've been putting together to show folks the process of getting English talking in the game.
This will probably be of most interest to people intrigued by the more technical goings on under the hood of our development pipeline (and is 20 minutes long!) nevertheless feel free to jump through sections of the video to see how we layer the motion up, finally resulting in the animation being played in game.
Let us know what you think of this tutorial, if you'd like to see more of this stuff let us know!
