Summary

An open world, action/adventure/puzzle game with an emphasis on physics and player-choice, for PC, Mac and Linux.

The boy Tyrim lives on the island with his mother Alma and his younger twin siblings Vida and Birka. His dad has been out on an expedition with the rest of the men in the village, leaving the elders, women and their children. No one knows where they are since they have been gone for several years. 

 Things in the village are starting to fall apart and there is no one to help. (this is where game starts), the boy insists to go find the lost ones but the villagers are keen on keeping the few ones they have. And of course Tyrim is far too young for such an adventure; the village is barely holding together. 

Tactical combat (think "Dishonored") with physics based damage and environmental usage (if I drop a bigger rock on an enemy, rather than a small one, it will do more damage.) An emphasis on problem-solving and exploration,    less on “Grinding” (no increasing your "stats" through repetitive gameplay). 

We are aiming for something more like: Zelda, shadow of colossus, Skyrim, or even Half-Life 2. We want the player to “play” with the world, its objects and inhabitants, not just admire the scenery.

Quest structure:

The game will feature a quest line with a similar structure to Grand Theft Auto (GTA) / Red dead redemption, Multiple quest lines, you choose the order in which you want to complete them.'

Quest contents:

Most quests will involve multiple activities such as combat, puzzle solving, crafting, tactical platforming, traveling also just using physics to interact with the world. We want to pace the game so that you long for certain types of game-play instead of getting tired of them.

Sandbox:

The nature of the open world together with physics makes it a sandbox, but this is not a main driving feature of the game.

Puzzle:

Most puzzles will be in dungeons, hard to reach places or just simply closed of areas and will always have a reward at the end. The hardest puzzles will be optional so you wont get stuck.

We will also add some smaller puzzles out in the world that will be completely optional, just to add some variation to areas and make them more interesting.




We’re aiming for a mixture between games like “Wind waker” and “Ni no kuni”. Stylized geometry with simple textures but with realistic rendering, also inspired by the Viking culture. 

We chose the Viking theme because, they had to use their environment and make their own tools, not just buy them from... Lets say... "Wal-Mart". If something didn’t exist they created it.

Our goals with this game is for you explore a vibrant and interesting world, using physics in your own way to create mechanisms and objects, sharing ideas with your friends on how to get better results doing missions, engaging in combat, solving puzzles, or just playing around with the world.

We thought there was a hole in the market regarding open world physics games. our goal is to fill that hole. 

What happens if we meet our goal?

We are going to deliver the most awesome game of all time! we're hoping to get out on markets like "Steam".

What happens if we exceed our goal?

We will create a bigger world with more landscapes and a longer quest line, in other words. More adventure! 

What happens if we don't meet our goal?  

We wont be able to do this full time, we'll be going back working part-time jobs! :( 

What's the Funding for?

We need the funding to be able to turn this into our full-time jobs for as long as the money gets us.

This project is going to involve a lot of physics and getting it really tight and user friendly is going to be a challenge, We also want to involve as many people as possible, so keeping track of everyone and their thoughts will be a challenge but we are looking forward to it.
