About this project

About the photographer

Bill Morton has been photo and videographing his Chicago neighborhood of Rogers Park for over ten years. His subject matter ranges from the towering Farcroft (northernmost high-rise building in the city), to the infinite nuances of everyday life on the Far North side.

Often quoted as "It's a labor of love", his involvement in the community is unwavering and selfless. Some of his labors include Fighting to save the Art Deco Adelphi Theater, authoring online publication Rogers Park in 1,000 Words and forming the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce to support local businesses.

About the project

Full color printing on both sides with photo/design which features the sun rising over Jarvis Beach, with the silhouette of a willow on the front.

The back of the postcard also includes the web address for daily Rogers Park photography and videos, Rogers Park in 1,000 Words.

Risks and challenges

This is a very small run of postcards and I kept the total project cost small, as this is my first crowd sourcing project and I am testing the waters.

$350.00 covers the design, printing and postage for 1,000 postcards. It also includes production of the $25 reward (8x10 glossy color photograph, framed and signed).

I have also limited this project to only two weeks, so I expect to deliver rewards #1 #2 and #3 on the projected March 2013 date. Private sunrise photo shoot reward (#4), is subject to scheduling, but is set for April 2013.
