Superheroes have had a long history of punching Nazis. Ever since Siegel & Shuster published the two-page "How Superman Would Win The War" in 1939 (where Supes punches a Nazi plane out of the sky) superheroes have lined up to fight all things Nazi.
I grew up on Captain America comics so got used to the idea of fighting fascism and racism from an early age. And in my adulthood I've become a huge fan of Hellboy and his fight against Nazis raising their ugly heads again.
I really don't like bullies and some of the biggest bullies in the history of mankind are Nazis. And seeing Nazis assembling and marching in the States in 2018, and here in Australia this year? It's just too much for me to handle.
This frustration is where COOL KIDS PUNCH NAZIS came from.
COOL KIDS PUNCH NAZIS AGAIN is a 20 page, black & white comedy comic book featuring two public domain stories from the 1940s, and one entirely brand new story. All three feature superheroes fighting alien and mutant Nazis. The public domain stories have been re-written to give them a comedic spin whereas the new story has a more serious tone. You'll get two adventures featuring THE FLAME, as well as a team-up between my own creator owned characters, CTHULHU WILLIAMS and KNOCKAROUND-GUY!
This comic is NOT FOR KIDS (Unless your kids are awesome and love reading swears and punching space Nazis)!
But... is this comic book for you?
If you grew up on superheroes like The Tick and Earthworm Jim, and/or enjoy watching some of the coolest heroes in the history of mankind punch Nazis in their stupid faces, then I reckon you'll dig this comic.
But just to be sure, here are a few of the re-captioned pages (with the swears edited out for the weak of heart):
I've decided to name my pledge levels after a few of my all time favourite punchers of Nazis;
"Not many comics can make me cry, but Big Tim's Funny Books' recaptioned public domain 'Cool Kids Punch Nazis' left me with tears rolling uncontrollably down my face. From laughter. This book is one of the funniest comics I've read in years. I can't wait for the next issue."
Shane W Smith: Creator of Triumviratus and Undad.
The $750 I'm asking for is going towards paying for the initial print run of COOL KIDS PUNCH NAZIS AGAIN. Just under 10% of that goes toward Kickstarter and processing fees. Anything above the goal will get us started on our next comic book project.
Shipping from Australia can be BRUTALLY expensive for international backers. I'm a simple man, but I've done what I can to make things more affordable to people in the US and UK. I'm really excited to announce that, in addition to our primary printer here in Australia (Jefferies), we've also got printers in the USA (KA-BLAM) and UK (CPUK) which means if you live in either of those countries, we can get your comics to you for just AU $8 - $10 postage, which is way better than trying to post from down under (AU $19+).
Unfortunately there's nothing I can do for backers outside Australia, USA or the UK, or about the CAPTAIN AMERICA pledge level (AU $49). Seeing as I will be personally drawing on the comics in the CAPTAIN AMERICA level, they have to be posted from Australia. But what I will do is cap postage at AU$19 regardless. But if these postage cost are still too high for you, I'd recommend the BUCKY pledge level (AU $2).
COOL KIDS PUNCH NAZIS AGAIN has hatched from the egg-like cranium of Big Tim Stiles. And when it came time for art to be done, Big Tim knew who he needed; Matt Kyme, Ahmed Raafat, and Evan Newby.
MATT KYME (Artist / Helluva Nice Guy):
Matt Kyme is the man who does not sleep, creator of the brand new smash hit THE WRATH OF THE CURSED! Matt’s previous comic THE DEMON; a 1930’s inspired white hat masked adventure, was shortlisted for a 2017 Ledger Award and quickly became one of the most iconic Australian independent comics.
Matt has released a number of comics and graphic novels and has contributed writing and/or art to many Australian independent comics.
Facebook: The Wrath of the Curse
AHMED RAAFAT (Artist / Exotic Enigma):
Ahmed Raafat is an Egyptian comic book artist currently living in the UK. He is the co-creator of "El Osba" (Arabic for: The League), an independent Egyptian superhero comic book series, and co-creator of GORILLA MY DREAMS, a comic book about a crime fighting superhero who just so happens to be a talking gorilla. He is also always working on various comic book projects in and outside the UK.
EVAN NEWBY (Artist / Teenage Mutant Ninja Artist):
Having a love of comics and cartoons from a young age, Evan acquired a position in a Sydney based advertising agency where he learnt traditional methods of animation.
This animation career allowed Evan to work on various TV comercials, TV series as well as short feature length films.
Evan then moved into a teaching role which gave him time to work on his own comics.
BIG TIM STILES (Writer / Ideas and Not Much Else):
Big Tim is an Australian writer and actor who has been working in the creative arts in Australia for over two decades. After four years of writing comic book reviews he dove into writing his own comics, including his webcomic GORILLA MY DREAMS.

Risks and challenges
There is always the possibility of an unexpected Drop Bear attack or a stampede of hungry Bunyips, which could make delivery of COOL KIDS PUNCH NAZIS troublesome. However, nothing short of that will derail my plans.
I've been a backer on Kickstarter for long enough to know that problems come up and delays happen. However COOL KIDS PUNCH NAZIS is a project I want to see succeed and any future plans I have for any of my comic book projects rely 100% on the backers (YOU!) being happy and wanting to come back for more.
I can't promise to know every unexpected hurdle that comes my way, but I can promise to keep you in the loop every step of the way.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
