Frequently Asked Questions
What's with the shipping charges? The campaign page says none would be collected now but I'm being charged for shipping with my pledge.
This is an error on my part that I addressed in the Day 1 update.
I had clearly indicated that I wouldn't collect shipping charges right away, and do it in the Pledge Manager later. The problem is I had put some "placeholder" shipping costs early on and I forgot to remove them. This means that some rewards mistakenly had shipping charges attached to them. I made some changes, but Kickstarter doesn't let me edit a reward if someone has already pledged in that tier. So here's how I will handle this:
- Anything that shows with shipping charges of $0 will be charged later in the pledge manager, as originally planned.
- For those who already paid for shipping here on Kickstarter, it will be factored in later in the pledge manager to reduce your shipping costs. For example, since international shipping for that faulty reward is now locked at $5 (which is clearly not enough), if the cost later is $10 for international shipping (I don't know yet), then those backers will just have to pay the $5 difference. Kickstarter takes some fees from me, but I will eat the difference, not you. It was my mistake.
If this causes issues for anyone, we can go over this later in private messages and I'll do right by you, you have my word.Last updated:
Two zine-sized booklets (5.5" x 8.5", saddle stitched) are included with the game, available in print and PDF form. All backers at the DIGITAL SPACE KID level and higher get both booklets.
The reason for two booklets instead of one is because saddle-stitched bound books have a cap of 40 pages. Since this project is part of Zine Quest, I had to follow the requirement to create a zine-sizes book, but it quickly became clear that I wouldn't have enough room for all the content planned, hence the need for two zines: a Player's Guide, and an Adventure Guide.
The Player's Guide teaches you how to play the game with the GLORY system, covering both the basic and expanded rules, including the basics of RPGs and the SPACE KIDS RPG universe, the playable alien species, Space Kid jobs, skills & talents, conflict resolution rules, including rules for combat encounters, verbal altercations, skill challenges, and more.
The Adventure Guide is primarily targeted at Game Masters who will run the game, including adults and older kids. It contains everything you need to get up and running in minutes, including GM guidance, tips on running the game for kids, creatures, equipment cards for items, and a starter adventure designed for a group of SPACE KIDS and their Game Master to easily learn the game.Last updated:
Social stretch goals are tied to bonus content for the SPACE KIDS RPG books that will get unlocked based social media activities. They should be easy and fun to achieve, and are a great way for our backers to help us champion this game and reach a wider audience.
Read this campaign update linked below to learn the specific instructions that detail how to unlock social stretch goals:

This is an excellent question that we do not take lightly. A full campaign update was published on this topic. Please see the post at the link below to learn more about conflict resolution in SPACE KIDS RPG, including combat and the verbal debate system:
