Any updates on xenopolitics?
@Brad - we are not ready with xenopolitics yet. We want to do this expansion as a revision of the base game at this point. We will need to do an additional fund raising campaign to do this expansion as we way over committed on this first campaign. I contributed almost $40k of my own money to delivery what we did. Which was ALOT. I love Disaster Looms, but I need to do what is necessary to try to keep our business running. It is not the right time to launch xenopolitics yet. It is delayed, not forgotten.
Still nothing, yet they have another new kickstarter up for a new project. Very disappointed in how this was handled. Time I was willing to give but this has gone to long and lack of communication is unacceptable.
I wonder if we were to report their other kickstarter if that would get their attention.
Any word on the expansion we were supposed to get as a stretch goal. This is going on 2.5 years already and you have since ran other kickstarters. This sadly is the only project I have had any problems with fufillment of my pledge on. Lack of communication is the worst part of it.
SO, 6 months down the road and no new news on what we are waiting on and was included in the original campaign?
@Joe C - it is a project that is in development now. It has been on the back burner till we have had time and funds to address it. We did not raise enough to be able to print this, thus we will be offering this as a Kickstarter project once development is complete. We are really excited about what we have come up with - and we think everyone will agree.
Whatever happened with the Xeno-politics expansion?
Whatever happen to the Xeno-politics expansion? In addition to the reprinted Rulebook? I backed at $65 pledge
I work in an industry where my day to day demands are pretty high and there is always stuff coming and going. I make it a point of keeping my customers updated, even if sometimes it is only to say I Don't know or I don't have an answer. I find that is always better then saying nothing for prolonged periods of time. At least that way people know you are aware and haven't forgotten them.
When people pay you money for a product or service, they shouldn't have to chase you for status updates. At least that is how I feel on it.
Either way, I will stop for now and settle back into watching the mail box for my shipment.
Brad - I am frustrated, and disappointed as well. I was told everything shipped. Then I was told that Canada had shipped, but not EU or Australia - but they were getting to it. Then I heard nothing for a week and a half. Then I find out that they had not shipped anything outside the US. I am not trying to defer the responsibility which is mine - I just did not want to communicate anything until I knew what really was happening. That could have been as early as 2 days ago - but I wanted to make sure I was ready to take care of it - which I am. Again, I am sorry. I really appreciate all of my backer's support and will am angry that the international backers got screwed into waiting weeks longer. Very frustrating. But... we will take care of that. As for Xenopolotics, we will be doing it. We are re-working the Tech deck, and introducing several new Political Influence deck (name might change). And of course, Aliens. We are getting excited about this one... but it is still a way away. We are hoping to do this late summer this year. We have a couple things we are doing beforehand, but Xenopolitics is definitely happening.
Eric, I am not upset about the mistakes. Stuff happens all the time, in every facet of life. What tends to annoy me is lack of communication. I last heard from you via email on Feb 15 that you were looking into the matter. 3 weeks to find out the stuff hasn't shipped is the frustrating part.
I greatly fear for our expansion which is way past due as well.
Ok - so I confirmed that we had an international shipping screw up. My fulfillment house chose not to ship the international packages. I am not sure why, but they did not. I received 41 boxes mats yesterday. I am expecting to receive the shipment list today. I will then be shipping immediately to everyone on the list - and emailing you as well. I feel terrible about this, as I know you all have been waiting forever for this! And now one more thing. It's lousy. And if you are wondering, we will not be using the fulfillment group again.
Nothing in Australia yet.
Still waiting in Alberta Canada.......
No problem. Thanks for the quick reply.
@Derrick - we just messaged you. Sorry for missing you. We will correct immediately.
I'm in MN and have not yet received the new rulebook or connectors. I did not order a gripmat so I'm not sure why I haven't received mine yet. At this point, if you wanted to add it to my Damage Report shipment I would be ok with that. However, I'm having an issue with the DR survey as well.
@Brad / Dave - I am checking with fulfillment as to status of international shipments. I was told these all went out.
I'm going to second Brad's comment. I'm also in Alberta / Canada and am still waiting on my gripmat, rule book and connectors.
Anyone in Canada receive their gripmat, rulebook and connectors yet? Still waiting in Alberta/Canada.
The mat relaxed a little, but the deeper creases and dents haven't come out after two days of lying flat on the table. It just kind of looks like I got the end of the roll or something, I'm sure they are not all like this. Anyway, it should still be just as functional, and the game will cover a lot of the worst parts.
@Sean - Can you let me know is the dents, creases, and wrinkles have come out of the mat? This is to be expected in shipment. The mat is precisely as we had envisioned it. I am sorry that it is not what you expected.
Came home to find my mat waiting for me! Unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. While the art and printing are great, the material is lighter and more fragile than I expected, and was shipped with lots of minor creases, wrinkles, dents and dings. I was expecting something more dense, like the mats MtG players use. There was something resembling bits of lunch on it, but that wiped off with a damp paper towel. While I will be happy to use the mat to keep my hexes from sliding about, I wouldn't spend $20 on this at a retail store. I had been on the fence about the GripMat project, and I'm glad I waited.
And my name was left off the Kickstarter Backers list in the manual. =[
All in all, though, I'm still glad I backed you and helped get your game and your company off the ground!
Ok - doing a post... I just received confirmation that 130 of the 172 GripMats have shipped!
The balance will go out next week. Slower than committed... but finally almost there!
Nothing yet in NJ.
I received my new manual and connectors yesterday, but not the gripmat I ordered. Will this be shipped separately or was this an error? Thanks.
@Brad - these should be shipping yesterday and today. That is what my fulfillment center has told me. I am in daily communication with them, and when I have it confirmed that they are all shipped I will post. Thanks - and I know the wait has been terrible. I have no illusions of good service here. Just trying to take care of getting these out - finally.
The new manual and connectors showed up yesterday. The grip map sample was stuck to the manual and had to be peeled off. Very grippy. The new connectors make the tracker look a lot better and are a lot less "spinny" - after some work on the cardboard with a knife. The new manual is a huge improvement. I did find one mistake in it - the nebula tile image on pages 13 and 32 (I think) is from the B-deck. Both should be from the A-deck. It's confusing when you're looking at the images and not the actual tile. But, all in all, a huge improvement. I can't wait to get Disaster Looms back on the table again.
Still waiting on new manual, connectors and mat in Alberta,Canada. Which is a shame. I had a ton of friends who were interested in the Gripmat Kickstarter, but were waiting to see how mine turned out.
@Michael - I am waiting on word from my fulfillment partner that these have all shipped. I was told on this past Thursday that they were expecting to start shipping them Friday, and would be done shipping them on Tuesday. I will do an update if I hear any change in this - and especially if I find out they have all shipped!
Any update? Still waiting on the connectors, manual and grip mat in VA. Thanks.
@Bob - The GripMats were all completed on Friday - finally. We have gone though scaling up pains, and getting the mats to come out right as we went from 5-10 mats a day, to 50 a day, to our current capacity took more time than anticipated. This being said our fulfillment folks have instruction manuals, and connectors and GripMats! So happy day - this week we should get them all out. Some of you may receive before the end of campaign... but most of you will not. I will do a post on this as well.
Hi Team. Your other Gripmat Kickstarter ends in 70 hours - it seems to be doing quite well (congrats)! Are ours on the way or is there tracking info available? Or are we gonna miss our chance to see them ahead of time?
Did you send out the rulebook and connectors to backers that did not order a playmat?
@Michael - I will message you on this to make sure your address is correct.
Still no new connectors/rulebook. Any word on that? It's been about 3 weeks now.
We are doing the lion's share of mailing next week. We received the connectors, and the rule books. We are waiting on mats to send out to those backers. Otherwise - you should see them immanently.
When can we expect the new rulebooks/connectors to start arriving?
@Jeff - send me an email and I will make sure we get you one!
@Brad - please send me an email with a current address
So, do I need to request a new manual or will I get one automatically as a backer of the project?
I'm not sure if you have my most recent address for the mailing of the new insrtruction manual. How can I check to make sure what you have on file??
@Brian - I just messaged you. This was shipped to you, we were not aware it had not been received. Please message me back so we can resolve this for you. I am sorry that you are having a bad experience.
@Sean - I know ... replacement components are taking forever. The replacement connectors should be in hand during the month of November. Panda is making these for us, and informed us it would be the first week of November for completion. I have emailed my contact for an update on these. The instruction manuals are printed, and finally the mats are about to be printed as well.
@Dan - Mats will be printing imminently. Our most recent sample came out a bit blurred when we took it to the 100% size (24" x 32"). This was not acceptable. I am supposed to be receiving final pre-production samples this week. We plan on doing a full update at this time. (hopefully this weekend)
very frustrated with this game.....they never doing what they say... wish i never gave them my money.... worst game buying experience ever... they sent me a mail telling me they send me replacement board and spinner out back in april... tolk me they send it out that week....its now nov.......WTF ???????????????????????????????
Tick Tock Tick Tock
Any more word on the mats?
@Mark / Brad / Bob- So we are only awaiting the connectors at this point they are going into production very soon. Once I receive them we will be mailing out manuals, and connectors. As for the mats - we continue to be very close on this. I have daily conversations with the manufacturer, and they are still waiting on the proper 24" width material. My most recent update (about 1 hour ago) is that they will have the material by Friday.
Just touching base to see how things are coming and when us Canadian backers can expect the playmats and revised rulebooks.
