Got the Game and the puff ball scenario. Still need the extra 2 characters and the On Fire expansion,3 scenarios and 2 new tools. And new printout of the Puff Ball scenario showing correct DR cards to use.
Any updates? We are having a blast with "Damage Control" and are looking for new scenarios along with the "On Fire" expansion and the "Backer Crew". Looking forward to more gaming goodness!!
We believe! I still like Damage Report. I need more scenarios now, so yeah, let's see the expansion in the KS. I'm good for it. ;-)
Any new update for the new year?
@Sean - we are getting things done slower than expected. But we are just about ready to pull the trigger. We are considering doing a KS for the expansion for folks who missed this... also to help raise additional funds to get this done. As you can imagine - our costs on 5 lb base games was much more than $48k. We do not want to cut corners, so we aren't.
@Michael - we will in fact take a survey for new mailing addresses before shipping.
It's been over 3 months since the last update, and although I see a couple of tidbits below, I'm still wondering if the "soon" you keep mentioning is going to be in time for Christmas?

@Jared - the backer crew will print at the same time. Maria, and Zephyr will be shipping, as well as a bonus to everyone for being so patient while we get this together. We are working on a further expansion after Damage Report: On Firte! This expansion is called Damage Report: Systems Critical. We have 3 scenarios of the five in play testing now. We expect to have it ready to go on KS early next year.
Yeah, I'm sorry now that I didn't back the expansion the first time. It was my first KS and I wasn't sure I wanted to go in for more before I really had a chance to play the game. If you have extras and are selling them at any kind of storefront, I'd definitely order it, but I understand if that's not possible.
Any plans for producing additional scenario packs after this?
Also, the backer crew? I loved the idea of Maria Vasquez - is she still in the works?
@Jarad - Thanks for the inquiry! We have been doing some final blind play testing of our expanison that is going to be shipped to about 200 of you or so who backed at $70+ level. This testing completed 2 weeks ago, and we have now been working with our artist to finalize changes to the rule book. Hopefully next week that will be complete. Then we will send files to the printer. We may also launch the expansion as a separate project... to generate additional interest. If we do - we will definitely let you know. And it will happen while the game is in print, so no long delays. :)

I also wanted to say that this game has been a lot of fun and is a hit at our local meetup, but I'd like new scenarios! I'm totally interested in an expansion, even if it was a simple collection of scenarios without any new components. I'd pay $20-$30 for a good number that I could play with any given size group, especially if it gave our resident doctor or robot some more glory. =) I'd even pre-order it direct from your site a year in advance, or get it as a digital copy.
@Brian M - I have responded to you - we will take care of the missed GripMat. Sorry! Backer Crew is about to go into production... an update we detail this in the next week.
Have most people gotten the mats and/or backer characters? I haven't gotten mine (or a shipping notice), and just noticed here that it sounds like they were sent out in July, but only Matt ever mentioned receiving them. Just wanted to find out if they mostly have not gone out yet or I just got an unlucky glitch. :)

@Matt - send me a photo. I have yet to see an indent that did not release from this material - but if it is deep enough, it could be permanent. This was from the bulk shipping of the mats.
My Gripmat arrived! It looks and works really good. However, it has a 16-inch long indentation near the middle of the mat, like a guide wheel on the manufacturing equipment pressed too hard and permanently indented the mat (the nebula side is indented, while the white side has a bump). It doesn't seem to affect functionality, just aesthetics. Just wondered if anyone else has a similar indentation in their Gripmat.
Just played DR twice at my Reunicon reunion/convention. Everyone had a blast! We easily defeated both First Contact and A Miner Spot of Trouble scenarios. Next time we'll include some event cards.
Still waiting on that darn Gripmat, though. Those buggers must be really hard to produce.

Hello BFRG! It's been a month since I last inquired about the GripMats for Damage Report backers. Any updates you can share on that front? I'm leaving on 7/17 for a private gaming convention focused on space-based games, and would love to have my GripMat before I leave. I can guarantee Damage Report will get a lot of play time there!
@Jarad - We are in final production of the backer crew. We had to tie this in with another print job as it would have delayed shipment of the base game. This is in process and should be out near the end of summer.
@BRG - There has been some gentle inquiry about the additional crew. Any news?
Just some musings here:
I am quite happy with the game overall. I took it to a meetup and it was a fair hit. I like the fact that you don't win every game, especially with any new crew members. The components feel very polished and nice except the blowtorch and egg timers. I hated the blowtorch tool because it just won't stay put. I took some sandpaper to flatten the opposite sides and it helped a ton. The egg timers tend to stick and that's frustrating.
The puffball scenario instructions are incorrect - I found out later that you use different damage cards and it was really hard for me to figure out what corridors/material rooms to use - partially because they look the same on the layout chart. Apparently the instructions were written and printed before everything was finalized.
The medic is not useful for most scenarios. We just replace her with someone else. The robot can still be nice, especially to work on the life support if it gets hit hard or early (and breeched corridors, of course).
Instructions were great, but I missed where it states the initial damage for each room is marked on their respective room card. I must have re-read the setup instructions three or four times and could not find it for the life of me. If you make a second revision, I'd repeat that statement a couple times, and make sure it is in that first paragraph of setup where you're talking about building your ship.
@Maxim - this was indeed an error - and we will rectify it. Our apologies!
@Mattias - I will spend the evening tomorrow looking into a few shipping issues - including yours.

I'm very much disappointed in this project. They sent me only one copy of the game instead of two ordered ones, and did not send the Kickstarter Exclusive: BACKER CREW character set. And nearly for a week they have not been answering my messages.
Australia calling: Wimmera, my game has now alived...I mean arrived...it has been a long time between KS drinks.

@Ryan: I store everything as follows:
1. Put the characters in first on the bottom.
2. Put all large modules on top of the characters, snug to one side.
3. Put the removable sides of the component bins along side the modules.
4. Put the tools bag and damage markers bag on top of the removable sides.
5. Put the bags of cards on top of the modules. I put 2-3 decks in a bag, so 3 bags of cards total.
6. On the box bottom (above the pile of cardboard), put the component bins, snug to one side.
7. Put the bag of timers on top of the component bins.
8. To the side of the bins/timers, put the corridors/tracking boards, then put the bags of components and other misc cardboard tokens on top of the corridors.
9. Put the electronic timer box in the center of the game box, on top of the modules and just above (but not stacked on) the cards.
10. Put the rulebook on top.
Everything fits very snugly this way, except for the Puffballs, which simply don't fit in the box with everything else.
Any update on the Gripmats for Damage Report backers? I played the game five times over the weekend at ROBA (session report is on BGG), and the modules and corridors were sliding all over the place. I really need my Gripmat! ;)
I finally had a chance to play with my friends over the weekend, and they all loved it. We played two, 3 player games (the intro scenario) and ended up losing both times. Afterwards we switched to a 6 (then 5) player game with the 2nd scenario and won both times (who needs to run when you have lasers). I haven't read up on all the rooms yet, but we love the gameplay.
I noticed that 4 of the 6 timers all had the sand stop at some point during the four games we played, but it didn't seem too big of a problem (and hopefully will go away with more plays). Also sadly one of the bases of my timers arrived broken.
And some questions about the expansions. For "On Fire" (assuming that's the one that the Deluxe level backers are getting), does it just come with 2 extra tools and 3 expansions or are there other things (some of those teased characters perhaps?). And is the "System Critical" expansion still the one that lets for 7-10 player games with "huge" scenarios/more characters (and any eta on that)?
Some other "gameplay" questions for people.
1) Has anyone found the medic to be useful so far? I know I've only played 2 games where a breach can happen on players, which it never did, but she still seems to be the most useless of the characters (or the robot if you can keep your life support always in green/yellow - again besides being able to move through breached rooms quickly, which still gives it value). Even when breaches happen on players the medic needs to be closer to the injured player than the injure player to the infirmary. Or is there another way that players can become injured besides breaches?
2) Does anyone have any good advice on how to store the game in the box? I just want to try to make sure that the sand timers and the cards can't get crushed by the heavier cardboard. And that the 4 resource rooms don't get worn out quickly from being unable to store them in their "box" form.
3) Just curious if people have thought of a better way to compensate for less players? In the 2nd scenario we really felt the difference between 6 and 5 players (we pretty much had to abandon the teleporter and the hyperdrive completely). I know there's "to make the game harder/easier", but I guess I was thinking more along the lines of "4 laser fires for 6 player, 3 for 5" - something built into the rules for various scenarios based on the number of players instead of having to try to "guess" the difficulty ahead of time.
Still, this was most likely my most anticipated kickstarter board game, and I'm glad that it didn't disappoint! And I know at least one of my friends is already looking to buy it next time she feels like buying another board game/needs a gift idea.

Game arrived in Minnesota. Everything seems in working order, and I can't wait to try it out with my gaming group this weekend.
Only comment would be that which room is the Tool storage isn't immediately obvious, but after process of elimination (and some squinting) it wasn't hard to figure out.
I'll keep using my sand timers and see if the "stopping" issue gets better. I tried "slamming" them when turning them over, and it sometimes helps. Honestly, most of the time you're watching your sand timer anyway, so if it stops you can just tap it right away and not lose any time. Also, I'm lucky enough to have 5 extra timers from the prototype copy that I received from BFR Games and reviewed, so I have backup timers if necessary.

The 'On Fire' expansion was promised to us in Update 10. It contains of additional tools and 3 more scenarios. 'System Critical' will be another expansion.

@Craig - thank you for the story. :) I am glad you guys had fun! We love hearing about these moments... it makes all the work worth it.
@Craig and I guess everyone who sees this - we had an issue with this as well. Each sand timer is hand made, and so there is variation in the pathway between sides. Some have vary narrow pathways, and thus less sand. I think this causes some issue with the sand continuing to fall. I found over time that the problem becomes less of an issue - I am not sure why, but it is rare for the sand to stop falling. As for the broken timers... the timers were not packed as instructed, and resulted in them bouncing around loose in the box. We have had limited occurrence of this. I will be inviting folks to send me requests for replacements as soon as I receive them. I currently only have Black bases with white sand in stock - no red sand.
