This means giving them production updates, direct access to submit ideas, ask questions, and engage in discussions during the production process with cast and crew. Some of our rewards even offer backers and fans a physical and active participation in the production from a day on the set to role prep activities with our actors. We want you as the audience to share in the experience as co-creators. For more detailed information keep scrolling down the page to read more about the project.
In 1962, a large object breaches the Earth's atmosphere and impacts a remote mountain range in Death Valley, CA. A half-century later, the Web series (film/web series hybrid) "Beyond The Impact" tells the story of the multi-national corporation CROWE's secret plan to harness the mysteries found at the impact site, and the lives of the individuals most deeply affected.
When a Senior CROWE scientist with direct ties to the impact site goes missing, a rookie FBI agent is teamed up with an experienced Russian operative in the race to find him.
Their investigation takes them to a small desert town where they cross paths with a group of locals, among them a community of test pilots and a young lady mourning the loss of a loved one.
The investigators start to uncover mysteries involving CROWE's plan, that may very well be one of the greatest secrets of the 20th century and could change the world forever.

The initial episodes of Beyond The Impact were created and released on Vimeo, YouTube, and the Beyond The Impact website in March of 2015 and are available for viewers to watch free of charge.
On this day of 09/12/2015 we are thrilled to announce that BTi has a brilliant musical talent by the name of Stephan Willing composing the original score for the series! This is amazing and all BTi fans should be on the edge of their seats!! We are!
Willing is based in Heidelberg, Germany. His talents can be heard on the 2014 Oticon Faculty album and on such films as “Without Sunlight” and “Corino Corazon,” to name a few.
If you’re smart, you’ll snag the BTi soundtrack right here on Kickstarter! It has just been added to the $30 reward category.
A review from the TG Geeks about the first episodes of BTi.
How did BTi come to be?
The creator and mastermind behind Etched Motion Productions and BTi, Jeff Patton, wrote the ORiGiN film trilogy before the BTi web series was even a thought in his mind. The ORiGiN trilogy is a big-budget undertaking. Due to this, Jeff decided to introduce the public to the characters and concepts through a smaller-form prequel web series. Jeff brought together a team of talented actors to step into the shoes of a diverse cast of characters that would build the groundwork for the ORiGiN trilogy. Beyond the Impact allows Jeff to not only develop depth within his ORiGiN characters and depict further layers within the story, but it allows him to grow with his cast.
Where do you come in?
The first episodes of BTi were completed on a skeleton budget and as such, our CGI and Special Effects were minimal. Although we were able to tell the beginning phases of the story with the small amount of resources we possessed, the episodes to come will require a substantially higher budget. CGI and Special Effects are necessary to adequately translate the story to the screen. Other high cost expenses include: production equipment, transportation, and locations.
During the first installment of BTi, the entire cast worked voluntarily and at times, many would fill the gaps where production jobs were needed. All the while they were taking time away from their regular jobs and families. Ideally, we would like the ability to offer reasonable compensation to the cast & crew for their future contribution and hard work with BTi.
In the next episodes of BTi we are taking the production to the next level! The script for the remainder of the series is completed and we have raised our standard. Anticipate another 2 hours of run time with complex action scenes, combat, and exciting plot twists. All of which will be filmed over 30-45 days at a variety of locations with more of an ever captivating soundtrack.
Check out the initial episodes of BTi to see the level of production we’ve achieved and we are aiming to surpass. The episodes can be seen free of charge on:
Once this final installment is finished, the entirety of the BTi FEB series will be available at no cost to the viewer.
The only way this series can continue is through the help and financial support of our viewers, fans, and those who have ever had a goal they wanted to achieve. We are very dedicated and are working very hard and this is why we need you!
AND if we exceed our goal - LOOK OUT - time to shoot a feature film. Let's stretch this goal people!
Examples of the CGI Concept Art for BTi and ORiGiN:
Our goal is $350,000. We'll break that down for you.
The total cost of producing the remainder of the FEB series is $279,000. The breakdown of this total is as follows:
Production cost $115,000 (Crew, Equipment, Labor, Location)
Music $7,000 (That good feelin music doesn’t come for free)
Wardrobe $10,000 (Military Uniforms, Character Costumes)
Cast pay $35,000 (For 30-45 days of shooting)
Food $14,000 (For 30-45 days of shooting)
Post Production $98,000 (Practical/CGI, editing, other costs associated with post-production)
What about the other $71,000?
This total is divided into two categories.
1. The combined total to produce our rewards comes to $41,250. We’ve partnered with companies we know and trust to help produce our rewards and help us save on costs.
2. The remaining percentage of funds is allotted for the Kickstarter fee at 5% and the payment processing fee of approximately 3.5% of our funds raised at estimated $29,750.
To bring our Kickstarter backers into the BTi experience we will be pulling you into the world of BTi's CROWE CORPORATION. Starting with reward tier number 2, you will be on-boarded as a CROWE employee. You’ll get the first glimpse at the inner workings of CROWE Corp through fun and exciting audio clips for each reward tier. The story builds so you learn more with each reward tier. These audio clips are exclusive for our Kickstarter backers.
The rewards will be produced if, and only if, we reach or surpass our goal. The rewards will become available after the world premiere in April 2016, with the exception of the on-set experience and walk-on role (which will take place during production), and the advanced screening in San Diego.
If this campaign is successful, we will be able to include and interact with our supporters as intended! We want you -- the audience – to feel a part of the team! You will receive the dates and details for your in-person rewards one month in advance. Those rewards include:
- Reward 12: “CROWE EXPERIMENTAL PHYSICIST I” 15 minute Skype interview with Jeff Patton and a cast member.
- Reward 13: “CROWE EXPERIMENTAL PHYSICIST II” A day on the set
- Reward 15: “CROWE ASTROPHYSICSIT” Walk-on role with hotel accommodations.
- Reward 16: "CROWE DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS" Pre-release privat screening

Pre-production is already in motion. This will be completed by the end of fall 2015. The shoot is projected to last 30-45 days and be completed by the end of 2015. Post-production will begin as soon as we return from shoot. The next installment of the series will be ready for the first pre-screening by end of April 2016. Future Project Sneak Peak: ORiGiN Feature Film Story Boards...
Risks and challenges
As with any large production, dozens of people are involved, in all aspects. We've been fortunate that they've come together because they believe in the project. However, coordinating all of this rarely comes off without a hitch.
Challenges that are unique to our project would include any complications arising from working with the US Military. Filming on a Military base puts us at their disposal, as far as scheduling and access.
All that said, we have proven that we can build and deliver a solid project from the ground up. We are confident that principal filming will be completed by the end of December 2015 and that editing should be completed in time for our projected screening window in April of 2016.
The ORiGiN: Beyond the Impact web series is an amazing adventure that literally reaches for the stars. You can play a part in bringing the fullness of this vision to life. Help make the dream a reality through Kickstarter.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
