Kickstarter is a platform that allows us to fundraise by offering our supporters various rewards. It’s an all-or-nothing system. You pledge whatever you can afford, and you only pay it if our campaign meets our goal. That way, you know your contribution won’t be wasted on a partially-funded project!
What’s even better is that you’ll get to make Better Eating International a reality, receive awesome perks in return, and be among the first people in the world to shape this revolutionary new project.
We are being sponsored by a foundation that has promised to write us a check doubling the amount that is raised -- but only if and when we pass our goal. That means, when you see this project hit $97,501, everyone’s pledge will effectively be doubled! That won’t be reflected in the Kickstarter funding meter, rather this will be in the form of a check sent directly to us.
Absolutely! Our initial goal of $97,500 is a drop in the bucket compared to the marketing forces we’re up against. It will put us on our way, but it won’t come close to accomplishing our grander vision. If we're able to raise more, we'll offer location-specific support, continued vegan education, and more. Check out our "stretch goals" for more information!
Yes, if you are in the United States! We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. This means that we will be able to offer letters to all US backers verifying that your Kickstarter donation was indeed tax-deductible (minus the market value of your rewards). For more information about this, please see The Fine Print on the main page.
