'Darling, our hearts they did conquer, and we found every promise they hid'
HAVE WE MET?
I'm Beth Goudie, a singer/songwriter based in Dorset, UK. I've been making music since as far back as I can remember.
I have always written songs in order to process the things that are happening in my life, or in the world around me, always in search of some clarity, or some hope.
There is nothing in life that makes me feel the way sharing my songs with people does. It brings me a deep, deep joy that only a dream fulfilled can bring.
Two of my biggest dreams have been with me from a young age:
1) To be a full time singer/songwriter, making music that positively impacts our world AND
2) To be a mama
Last year I became a for mum for the first time to my beautiful son, and he has changed my world forever, in every good way.
Now I find myself navigating new territory, figuring out how to be a singer/songwriter AND a mum to my son.
I have always believed that both dreams are possible, together, in all their fullness, and now is the time for me to see how it can happen.
One of the ways that I plan to embark on this journey is by remaining as an independent artist, so that I can keep on making music for you, whilst maintaining control of the schedule and lifestyle around it.
And I'm asking you to join me.
'OUR HEARTS WILL CONQUER'
This album has been a long time coming, and I am beyond grateful to have an incredible band to record alongside, a producer I’m so happy to be working with, and the most wonderful people to share it with (that’s you, by the way).
The 10 songs are an accumulation of my life over the last 6 years, with songs you may have heard, should we already be acquainted, and some brand new tracks inspired by more recent events.
'I'll NEVER MAKE THIS ON MY OWN'
I want to make this album independently of a record label, but I can't make it on my own.
So, I'm asking you to be my record label. To support me on this Kickstarter campaign and help me to make this album.
In exchange for your kindness and support, you'll be able to enjoy some of the exclusive perks on offer, and you'll be the first to hear the album.
HOW MUCH DO I NEED?
The entire album project is is going to cost roughly £6000.
This Kickstarter campaign is aiming to raise the money for the final stages of the process, right before I send the album to you!
If we reach the full initial target of £2380, I will be able to pay for the following:
- Mixing/Mastering (Sending the tracks off for the final mix and mastering) - £280
- Duplication (Getting the physical copies of the album made) - £1670
- Online distribution (Uploading the album to iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music etc) - £50
- Kickstarter fees (And payment processing fees) - £200
- Reward fulfilment (Ordering, creating and organising your rewards) - £180
The remaining £4000 will pay for:
- Venue/Studio Hire
- Producer fees
- Musician fees (Recording time, expenses)
- Album artwork (Design and editing)
- Promoting the album
There are plans in place to raise this £4000, which include the following:
- Personal savings
- Additional gigs
- Extra coaching sessions
HOWEVER, the more we make through this campaign, the sooner we can get this album out to you!
So, between you and me, I'm shooting for the full £6000 in this campaign as a stretch goal, because it's good to dream big, right?
HERE WE GO.
I'm so grateful for you visiting this page, and for all your support.
Thank you all so much, I truly couldn’t make music without you.
Risks and challenges
The obvious big risk for this project is that we don't meet our fundraising goal of £6000.
One of the ways I am trying to get ahead of this challenge is by setting the fundraising goal into three phases.
This Kickstarter Campaign is focusing on phase 1, a target of £2000.
We have other plans in place to raise the remaining £4000, including taking on extra coaching days, gigs and work.
Deep down I believe that anything is possible, including raising £6000 through this Kickstarter campaign, but I want to relieve the pressure and make the process a little more enjoyable for us all!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
