HELLO! My name is Pam, welcome to our Kickstarter campaign to launch our own delivery app!
This has been months in the making, and we are very excited to finally announce it. First and foremost, thank you so much for taking the time to show us some love. Your continued support is the most important ingredient in making our pizzas taste delicious - we couldn't do it without you.
My family and I opened our first shop in 2014, inspired by Italian recipes that we cherished so much in our youth. Back in the day we were young and foolish and we thought that a local shop would be the perfect easy-peasy activity that would allow us to invest in our passion and still leaving lots of time for family and friends. Four years later, we have learnt that unicorns do not exist and grown to be more than merely a pizzeria - we are a community hub for pizza lovers across London.
We love pizza. I mean we really really love it. And not just any pizza. We love a specific type, with a dough that feels like bread, a tomato sauce that smells like summer and mozzarella that melts in your heart. We wanted that pizza and we developed it exactly how we like it.Our crusty and fragrant dough is proven for 72 hours to give it the time to ferment and mature, preventing that all-too-familiar thirsty feeling.
All our toppings come from sunny Italy, indeed. We have selected each ingredient within thousands and we believe to have done it well.
Our veggies are brought directly from Spitalfield market every day by our local tradesman. We then wash them, cut them, dress them and cook them.
Everything is prepared in-house and we won't compromise on that. Even Spicy oil. And there's no joking about it!
Time Out readers have voted us to be the best pizza in Bow (if you don't believe them, come and try it for yourself!).
Service is core to our business. We believe in the product we serve, we are kind to everybody without prejudice, we are there for those who need us. Simple life, genuine people.
Being part of the community is as important as baking an excellent pizza. That's why we donate all the time we can to local events, we support local initiative and we support the schools around us. Because children love pizza, and we love children!
So, on to the project! There has been a surge in food delivery apps in recent years. However handy these apps are, they often ask for a large cut from the total order value to cover their costs - up to 35%! The combination of their platforms and their popularity results in you getting a pizza that is neither as fresh nor as affordable as we would like. To add to that, all-too-frequent news stories about delivery drivers being mistreated and targeted in London has inspired us to search for a solution.
Delivery is the only aspect of our service that is out of our control. We want to take back that control to offer you an even better experience, smooth from order to delivery, quicker and cheaper.
We need £5,000 to develop our very own Pizza Room delivery app. Any donation, no matter how large or small, will help us get closer to our goal of bringing you the pizza you love. And most importantly, through your donation we will see your support and we will know that you are there for us.
Sounds like a pretty good deal already, right?
We've come up with a few rewards to thank you all for showing us the love - we just wanted to say, we love you too!
Every reward we offer is worth AT LEAST one pizza plus a bunch of other goodies, so you'd be silly to miss out on a slice of the action (no pun intended… not). And if you love pizza as much as we do, you have the opportunity to gain tickets to our highly exclusive Pizzaiolo workshop. You could even be lucky enough to have your own personalised pizza on our menu (terms and conditions apply - strictly NO pineapple).
Kickstarter is an 'all or nothing' platform, meaning that if we don't reach our goal, we are not able to give you the delicious rewards that we are so excited to offer.
You can help us out by sharing this campaign with your pizza-loving friends and family, so we can bring the best pizza ever to your doorstep.
We would love to get everybody together into a very large community party (we hope for it to be at the Ecology Pavillion in Bow). It will cost around £3.000 to run, so we hope to raise at least £7.500 and fund it!
Who knows, you might find the love of your life there!
Special thanks to Gregory and Matheus for their tireless work throughout the campaign.
Thanks to Crowdfunk Media Ltd for the professional viewpoint, the expertise and the efficient delivery during all stages of the campaign.
Thanks to Content Creations for the artworks and the (hilarious) video, we had so much fun from start to finish.
Thanks to The Coffee Room and The Pizza Room community that supported all the way through. You are amazing beyond imagination!
Thank you to Dany, Benny and Luca for their patience and understanding during the pre-during-after campaign phase.
Thanks to my little angel Ulysses, that spent so many nights without his mummy, and Awet, my partner in crime, without whom all of this would not exist.
Risks and challenges
Naturally, there is a small amount of risk involved when expanding any business. Here at The Pizza Room, we know how much our customers love our pizza - we see familiar faces every day of the week. Our delivery app will ensure that our community can continue to enjoy our food from the comfort of their own home without the extra costs incurred by third-party food delivery apps.
Lots of love and pizza,
