Window Pods are flower pots - totally re-imagined for modern, urban apartments. Each Pod is a vertical garden mounted right on your window - where the sun is. Sun + plants is a good combination.

Between urban apartments, chilly climates, and a busy schedule, it can be difficult to find the time or space to buy your own fresh edibles, let alone grow them. Window Pods change the game by transforming any sunny window into a beautiful vertical garden. A Window Pod can grow fresh wheatgrass in as little as one week, from planting to harvest (growing herbs takes longer).
Window Pods are a vast improvement over conventional growing pots. By putting plants on the window - they receive the perfect amount of sunlight each day. Not only does this create ideal growing conditions for plants - the vertical orientation of the garden also saves space for people in an urban dwelling.
Each Window Pod is made of lightweight, durable, and eco-friendly polypropylene - with an iconic, white minimalist design. Mount just one Window Pod, or fill your entire window with an ever-changing green centerpiece.
Window Pods are designed to be modular, easy to install, and easy to water. Just press the suction cup onto the window - and slip the pod down onto it. Lift up to remove the plant and water. The pods' ease of installation means that you can completely re-configure the layout of your window pods in a matter of minutes - allowing you to design a totally unique urban garden.
Greater happiness, fulfillment, and productivity are some of the benefits of keeping indoor plants. The visual experience of vegetation offers "micro-restoration" — the chance for our brains to recharge and rest throughout the day.
Fresh herbs have the highest phytonutrient content of any category of greens - by far. Window Pods enable you to grow and keep delicious organic herbs on a sunny window near the kitchen - ready to be cooked, or mixed into a fresh salad.
NASA researchers suggest efficient air cleaning is accomplished with at least one plant per 100 square feet. Having good indoor air quality is very important, especially since many of us spend so much time inside.
My name is Ben, and I love growing all kinds of plants indoors (herbs for cooking, Sansevieria for cleaning the air, and succulents because they are adorable). This project started about a year ago, when I filled the entire sill of my window with heavy potted plants. This was kind of worrisome, because my bed is located directly beneath the window. I live in California, so there is a very real possibility of an earthquake - and I was worried that one of those giant potted plants might come crashing down on my head while I was sleeping. Rather than just move my bed, I thought "Wouldn't it be great if I could attach these plants to the window glass..."
My first Window Pod prototypes were not perfect (as you can see above), but the early designs helped me figure out what would really work. One thing that I realized is that although a square design maximizes the amount of soil in the container, it is way too easy to knock them off the window while closing my window blinds. Having the early designs fall was bad, because soil would fly everywhere. The rounded, drop-resistant final product allows window blinds to easily close over them.
The initial prototype also had magnetic attachments, which were cool because they allowed the plants to attach to the fridge, but ultimately the magnets were a bad idea, because they allowed Pods to accidentally detach from the window when sideways force was applied.
The final, simple Window Pod design is the product of many decisions that became clear while I was growing plants indoors. They are also guided by my ideas on how to significantly improve other indoor, vertical-gardening solutions.
Getting the final design produced was not easy, but the completed Window Pods are straight-up amazing. I already ordered a minimum quantity - and gave them to friends and family to try out. My mom loves them! (hopefully other people will too...)
The Campaign Goal
At this point, I have attempted to take product photos of the Window Pods that make them look as beautiful as they do in real-life. Now I am here on Kickstarter to fund a bigger order, and hopefully bring to market the best indoor-gardening product that has ever been created!
Risks and challenges

Yes! There is a hole at the bottom of each Pod. This makes Window Pods very easy to water - just lift them off their suction cup, water them in the sink for a second, and put them right back up on the window. Piece of cake!
With the correct surface prep, The Pods will stick to the window in any condition they encounter. In extreme climates, applying a tiny amount of cooking oil or Vaseline will create an evaporation-proof seal.
From personal experience - all of the pods on my window have remained up for many months with no need to "burp" the air bubble that forms in the suction cup.
The time a suction cup adheres to a window is affected by many factors - including cleanliness of the window, weight, and vibration. The Window Pods suction cup works around this issue by visibly developing an air bubble over time, which indicates that the suction cup's vacuum is weakening. A quick press, to diminish that air bubble, will completely replenish the suction cup's gripping power.
