Hello friends! I am Benjamin Brekke, a Catholic singer-songwriter from Saint Paul, Minnesota. I have been playing guitar and writing music since the age of 15.
My music is all about journey. Honest lyrics and intriguing melodies combine the ebb and flow of a life. Through the exploration of the ups and downs, inspiration and frustration, struggles and belonging, to letting go and allowing God's mercy to flow. Through my music, an invitation is extended to see that brokenness leads to redemption - be not afraid.
Be Not Afraid is the title of my debut album. It will be produced and recorded by Jeremy Dinegan of MaryAnna Studios. The album will feature guitar, ukelele, piano, drums, tuba and trumpet as I explore the themes of saints, the Blessed Mother, mercy, prayer life, fatherhood, family life, hope and more.
I am really excited to share my reflective and honest music and message with you and the rest of the world but I need your help. There is a lot that goes into making a record. Some of those expenses include tracking, mixing, producing and mastering so that these songs are radio ready. After the recording there are additional costs for CD duplication, packaging, and website domain costs. It would be a huge blessing to have your support in any way, so how can you help?
First: Pray for this project, God gets all the glory for any musical talent that I have and this album is ultimately His.
Second: Spread the word about Be Not Afraid. The more people know about this project the more opportunities exist for God to work and be glorified.
Third: Give a pledge! Check out all those sweet deals to the right. The more you can pledge, the more you can "level" up. Some of the pledge levels include a physical copy of the CD before its released, 2 exclusive bonus songs (fan favorites: The Cereal Song and Happy Movember), your name in the thank you liner notes of the CD, a booklet containing the lyrics and stories behind each song on the album, and even a live concert!
Thank you for your support and please spread the word!

Thank you so much for checking out this page, I pray that many blessings will pour forth from this project.
