Originally published on Webtoon (where it’s free to read online), The Sword Interval is an ongoing modern fantasy that follows a rookie monster hunter on a quest to rid the world of the lich that took her family from her.
In this second volume, she and her mentor find themselves trapped in the haunted tunnels of Broughton Hall. Here they are at the mercy of a powerful ghost unwittingly let loose by a previous team of hunters. Out of their depths, the duo is going to have to face their fears if they hope to survive.
Volume 2 collects 40 episodes of the webtoon (about 130 pages of comic) as well as guest comics and artwork into a 6.25” x 10.25” full color paperback.
The vast majority of funding will go to printing the book and shipping out rewards. What's left will go to producing the other rewards, Kickstarter's fees, and taxes.
I've learned from previous Kickstarters to keep my stretch goals simple, or else risk significant fulfillment delays. Most extra funding will go into printing more books and shipping them out. That said, I have a few ideas for if we hit certain benchmarks.
- $20,000 - Guest Art by Amber Houston, to be printed in the back of the book, and as a bonus print for all backers already getting posters as part of their rewards.
- $25,000 - Liches Get Stitches Enamel Pin, a bonus pin for all backers already getting the pin and/or the patch as part of their rewards. Additionally, all tiers of backers will now get the bookmark.

Risks and challenges
The first volume was successfully published in 2016. It took me a few months longer to fulfill it than estimated, but through that I learned a lot about better handling the workload and estimating my own limits. All of the artwork for Volume 2 is complete, and just has to be formatted and compiled for print.
There’s always the unexpected, and if anything delays the fulfillment process I’ll let backers know as soon as I can.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
