I received mine. Looks great! No defects. Filled the bottle and now have the book proudly resting on my bookshelf. Well done!

"wondering" should have been "wandering" in my last comment.... :-(

Just to let other backers know...I received a surprise on my doorstep today....despite not having a tracking number in advance of it's arrival. My book is here! I got the Programming UNiX flavor and the book is in great condition with respect to the cover. The assembly from Bender Bound seems to be quite well executed. The ONLY complaint that I have so far is that the wax seal had completely come free of the bottle and was wondering around loose in the bottom of the flask cavity inside the book. I'm not sure how this happened or how to rectify it without damaging the wax or flask beyond repair.

      Other than that, nicely done!

Thank you all so much for your patience. This has been an amazing few months and we have learned a ton about the demands of large scale crafting projects. We've run the gambit of challenges from paper shortages in Nepal to overheat power tools to figuring out out how to ship hundreds of packages to all our awesome backers. We have finally got all the books made and are hoping to get most if not all the packages out this weekend. We've decided to send the packages via FedEx Ground so we can track them and make certain everyone gets their book in one piece. If you have any concerns about the timing, or any other questions, please email us directly at Thank you once again, we hope you enjoy your books!

Are most of us still on track for end of this month or is March looking more like when we'll be getting it?

Good news! Think we´ll all be glad to receive photos from the manufacturing process. Friends usually go crazy with boozebooks.

Thanks for the update! I must have missed the end of February part...

      Keep up the good work!

Hi John, we really want to get your book to you and everyone else as soon as possible. Here's our situation. Our kickstarter campaign ended on December 31. We received funds from the project in mid-Janauary. We immediately started by supplies to set up the production process. Then we sent all our awesome kickstarter supporters an email asking what books they want. We asked for your address as well but not because we we're ready to ship, the production process had not yet begun. Now we are making the books. Because these are handmade, they really take time to produce. But we are definitely aiming to have all books in the mail by the end of february as promised. Sooner if possible.

Thanks so much for your patience!

Have these started to ship yet? We filled out the address form almost a moth ago now.

    20. Dan 'da Man on January 10, 2012

Yeah! I got to select my book. I am also interested in still receiving the Bloody Mary recipe. Feel free to slip a copy into the bottle. :)

If I pledge at a higher amount do I still get this 'famous' Bloody Mary recipe? This is what initially caught my eye. Let me know soon please!

    22. Jordan Ritter on December 29, 2011

Tom - I totally agree, same for geeks. Yay boozers!

I pledged $300 for three books do I get to choose the titles?

    24. Morgan First on December 24, 2011

So, I am not sure how large the flask is (and thus how large the book needs to be) but Goodwills are always full of those per letter encyclopedia books. In general Goodwill has SO MUCH surplus that they sell off lots of their items in large quantities - they might be good to reach out to for books!

Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions, we are really taking them to heart and changing our plans as we hear from you. Please keep the comments coming!

    26. Ivan Yagolnikov on November 29, 2011

This is an awesome project, but it'd be great if there were another pledge level for those who want multiple books but don't need five (i.e. two or three).

I figure the more variety of books you can be shopping for used, the less of an impact you'll make on the price if you buy them used online. On that note, I'd like to suggest:

old editions of the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics
      Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon
      DSM IV
      Robert's Rules of Order

Amazon has a dozen used copies of some of these for less than $10 or even $5 including shipping.

This is a brilliant idea. Selling lawyers bottles of booze hidden in law books should be like shooting fish in a barrel. I'm shocked that no one has thought to make a business of this before. Best of luck!
