We hope this message finds you all enjoying your summer. We have a few exciting happenings to report as well as an update on our progress towards launching the nanobrewery that you helped fund.
A very recent development that we are super excited about is that as of this past Friday, ALL of the the Bemidji Brewing team now calls Bemidji home. It has been a long time coming, especially since when our first idea of starting a brewery was hatched, we were all scattered across the country--from Rhode Island to Texas and up to Alaska. And since then, we've lived in Montana and Minnesota! But finally, we can all call Bemidji home and really hit the ground running. For the last 2.5 years we have tackled the challenges of being geographically separated by utilizing Skype for meetings, Google Docs for sharing files and information and have taken turns commuting for intense work weekends-- but there is no doubt that we all look forward to working in-person to get everything off the ground. It is a very exciting time for us all.
We would also like to report on our progress wrapping up Kickstarter: we are almost there! On June 2, 2012 we hosted our Beer Dinner for backers at the Harmony Co-op's Community Kitchen. It was a great event with lots of good food, beer and people to share it with. Check below for a few photos from the event. And as far as the other items and experiences, we have shipped out what we hope to be all packages (if you did not get yours please email us: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be sure to get it straightened out!) The only things left on the Kickstarter wrap-up are hosting the Keg Party and our Brews Cruises. We will be able to do those as soon as we are licensed.
Speaking of licensing, we are approaching the end of the approval process with the Federal government. It is with mixed emotions that we announce that from what the TTB has told us, we are the first brewery in the U.S. to launch in a community kitchen or other shared space. While it is great to say we're the first, it also means that we are writing the books as we go. Working out the details with the Federal government and Harmony Co-op's Community Kitchen has been time-consuming, but everyone is doing their best to make this nanobrewery a reality. We feel confident that we will be wrapping up the TTB process soon and moving onto the State level, which from what we've heard, is a quicker process. We hope!
And lastly, within the next month or so we are hoping to order a new round of merchandise including t-shirts and glassware. We are working on a new concept for the tshirts that we are really excited about and think folks will enjoy. If you are interested in purchasing merchandise, stay tuned to our facebook page for announcements or feel free to contact us for more information.
As always, we hope that you will stay in touch and continue to support Bemidji Brewing and craft beer.
