Disc golf is one of the world’s fastest growing sports, yet enthusiasts find themselves with an on-going need to explain the purpose of the sport’s baskets seen in parks across America. Although disc golf is a fast-growing sport, it has not yet reached "main-stream" America.
Charles Belvin has written a script for a full-length feature film entitled, OVER STABLE, about a 15-year-old boy who wants to be a professional disc golf player and play on the Pro Tour. This screenplay has all the classic elements that make for great cinema. The story includes believable characters, romantic interludes, lust, greed, tragedy, injustice, humor, surprise twists, irony, and heroic efforts. OVER STABLE will be the explanation and excitement that finally takes disc golf “main stream”. The film will engage the audience and their emotions. They will laugh in the beginning, cry in the middle and stand up and cheer at the end.
The challenge is how to raise the money to produce the film. Although several disc manufacturers are interested in discussing product placement in exchange for support, the concern is the fact that this will be Charles Belvin's first feature film.
To address this concern, Charles has written the script for a short-film entitled, THE ONLY DECISION THAT COUNTS which is the "prequel" to the full-length film, OVER STABLE.
The short film takes place in one day and is essentially the story of a traumatic event that sets up the story for the longer film.
Charles Belvin has been producing award-winning video productions for more than 30 years and has received four, Sun Coast Regional Emmy Awards. In addition, the Director of Photography, Bryan Ricke, has just completed his second feature film and his wife, Melissa currently has her third feature film in pre-production.
The cast and crew are ready to prove themselves and show that they can deliver a great story with excellent production value. This short film will be the "proof" that the cast and crew are ready to produce and deliver the larger project which will follow the completion of this short film.
