Thank you so much for visiting our Kickstarter page. We are really excited about bringing Blavatsky's Tower to the Barons Court Theatre this May but to do so, we need your support!
We have a fantastic cast and a passionate young director ready to bring you a powerful, dark, funny and entertaining production of one of Moira Buffini's finest plays.
- Timothy Allsop - "Roland"
- Pia FitzGerald - "Audrey"
- Ian Hallard - "Dr. Tim Dunn"
- Edward Merwood - "Blavatsky"
- Francesca Wilding - "Ingrid"
Directed by Will Maynard and produced by Biggles Bristol, Blavatsky's Tower is a Rapunzel-esque fairytale for the modern age. It is a richly themed and darkly comic portrait of the extent to which ambition – and its failure – shapes all our destinies.
Please do take a moment to watch our video at the top of this page if you have not done so already.
If you would like to see this exciting project on the stage, then please pledge as much as you can. Every small amount helps and goes a long way to helping us reach our target. We only have a few days to reach our funding goal and due to Kickstarter policy, if we don't make it in time, then no money changes hands, we walk away with nothing, an no one gets to enjoy the play or their rewards. So spread the word to as many people as you can. Even if you can't back us yourself, you may well know someone who can!
How to Pledge
To pledge your support, simply click on the green “Back This Project” button to the right of the video. You can then chose how much to give and which reward you would like. These rewards are our way of saying thank you for your generous support and acknowledging the integral role that our backers play in making the project a reality.
Risks and challenges
Kickstarter insists that we say something about the risks and rewards inherent in each project which might prevent them from being completed despite achieving their funding goals.
Ironically, if we meet our funding target on Kickstarter, we will have already overcome one of the biggest challenges faced by any new production. In addition to the funds we have already raised, we will have enough in our account to pay for theatre hire, insurance, music rights, set materials, props, costumes, lighting, sound, advertising and all of the small costs which quickly add up. If we manage to exceed the £4,000 goal then every extra penny will go in to the production, giving us more creative freedom in terms of set, sound and lighting design.
We already have a full cast and will be able to do a full four weeks of rehearsals before dress, ensuring that we are completely ready by the first night. Of course, there will be challenges along the way, but we have a highly trained and professional team, and no matter what, the show must go on!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
