We have added stretch goals!
NEW TIER ADDED - COMMISSION METAL PRINTS!
Thank for all of your support to make this project happen!
One Day, when driving down the back roads of Douglas, Georgia, we (The BeetleMilk Team) noticed a tremendous amount of roadkill on the side of the road during a trip back to Columbus. It was pretty horrible, and Tatiana and I talked at length about the mechanics of roadkill and the morality of cars. It was an interesting conversation, but the end result is that we weren't sure where the corpses go, or sure of any good ways to fix the issue.
A month or so later, we were in our hometown of Columbus, GA, driving to the grocery store, and we noticed a dead raccoon on the side of the road. He was huge, an old guy, and slung to the side of the road to rot like trash. Tatiana asked me "What if he came back?". She didn't mean it in a horror sense, she was just genuinely sad. She ruminated on this raccoon for a few days before bringing me a story idea, about a raccoon, THAT raccoon, coming back to life. What would he do? What would his purpose be?
The RoadKill Club is about a raccoon that is hit by a murderous driver (Known only as the Red Truck). Dead, the Raccoon is greeted in the afterlife by the Spirit of the Forest, who gives him a holy quest: Find the individual responsible for the deaths in the back roads, and stop him. He will have the power to revive other animals, and together they will protect the animals still living. He will need some help, however, to end the Red Truck's reign on these back roads...
This comic has a true purpose - to view the phenomenon of modern technology and industrialization through the lense of the nature we hurt daily to achieve it. We don't want to preach, we just want to entertain, but thoughtfully. For some of us, it hurts to see dead animals littering our roads, cast aside unceremoniously and unremembered. This comic is for them. In fact, many Club members are based on actual animals we have seen on the side of the road in our travels. This book will be dedicated to them, and the animals in the book will be nameless for that reason.
The Road Kill Club comic will be 26 pages of full color awesomeness! There will also be a mystery alternate cover available that’s exclusive to this Kickstarter! It will be revealed as the campaign goes on.

At this point, the comic is about a quarter done. All pages are drafted, and Tatiana is working on the art assets. It takes a little bit longer than our other comics simply because of the art style, which is Painterly, but the end result will be beautiful. Tatiana wanted to convey a natural feel to the book, and is putting in massive amounts of effort to making it all look organic and natural.
Our backers will receive new updates on the making of the comic, as well as a behind the scenes look at the inner workings of BeetleMilk, every other day of the campaign. A Discord will be set up as well, so that people can ask questions and make suggestions. This is absolutely meant to be an ongoing project that involves our fans from the start of the series until the end, and we would love for you to be a part of the comic's evolution.
Who Are We?
BeetleMilk Publishing is the ongoing artistic effort of Tatiana and Devin McCrea, a married couple working out of GA. We started out making one comic, [Psycho Babble], for a strictly online audience, but over time became a diverse company with a wide portfolio of projects.
RKC is the latest, but over the next year we will branch into another comic (TBA), clothing designs (Bunnidesigns.com for more info), novels, fine art, stickers, charms, and pins. We are a well established company with an excellent reputation for being fan friendly and a positive force in the artistic community.
Please refer to www.BeetleMilk.com for more info.
We appreciate you taking the time to look at this. We hope that you will choose to back this comic, which is the kickoff point for an entire series that will explore themes of nature vs. tech, life and death, and morality.
Risks and challenges
This KickStarter is our preorder system. We would love the help getting it made, and it will get made regardless. Comics aren't cheap to make, however, and by funding it you will not only get exclusive access, you will help us keep the cost to the consumer down. We are extremely well versed in comic publishing and foresee no issues on this front. We have an online store and fulfill orders daily, with the help of our partners in the buisness - no issues there either. If you back, you will have the comic fast, and perfectly.
BeetleMilk is a widely known indie publisher. We live and die by our reputation, which is a good one. When your items ship, you will receive full tracking for it, and have access to us if anything goes wrong. We also will update regularly.
