Dessert Beetles: An Enamel Pin Collection (Canceled)
A set of beautiful enamel pins featuring two of our favorite things - bugs and dessert!
Who are you guys?
We, my curious potential backer, are [BeetleMilk]. We are a small indie collective operating out of Nashville, TN.
We originally were founded in Los Angeles, CA. That was four years ago, when we were still in college. Our lineup consists of myself, Devin McCrea (I go by Delta Green online), my wife Tatiana (Citrus Longhorn), and Brian Melgar (Scarab). We originally started out doing comics, but eventually branched out to other merchandise and art.
We are a successfully KickStarted company, with one of our comics, The RoadKill Club, getting fully funded in just over six hours.
We hope that you'll enjoy this KS and that you'll check us out - we are a very well established company that ships out products to customers daily. Check out www.BeetleMilk.com for more info!
Why Does This Exist?
If there's anything we love here at [BeetleMilk], it's beetles and junk food!
We believe that beetles get a bad rap, and not nearly enough credit for being the industrious, fascinating, and yes, cute, creatures they are.
To that end, we have created this set of enamel pins. Voted on by our fans, they were the most popular set out of three choices (You can find the other two sets here!).
The pins themselves will be beautiful. Around two inches each, They will be constructed of polished, hard enamel. They will be copper plated, and come with a lovely backing board for display. They will have www.BeetleMilk.com stamped on the back.
Cool! So, what can I get?
The initial offering will consist of the five pins, and at the highest tier, a TBA KickStarter exclusive pin. There will be a sticker set made of them, as well as patches. It's going to be amazing.
We have already run one of the designs, the Beetle Cake, as a proof of concept piece. Check it out!
That's 1.65" of awesome enamel pin. This is only one of six - the designs, including the KS Exclusive, are here:
The best part is that you don't have to get the whole set if you just want one or two. Just select your tier and we will get with you about which ones you want!
Those are some pretty sweet designs! But what if I want to get them later?
The first thing that has to be brought up is that this KS Campaign exists for a reason - Enamel pins are incredibly costly (ie, risky!) to make. The goal that we are aiming for includes the production of the pins, estimated shipping, and packaging. It ain't cheap, Bucko.
With that said, presuming success for this campaign, the remaining pins that don't go to backers will be available our website. We decided to do something interesting for this campaign, though - we made them much cheaper as a thank you for believing in the project. When they go on sale on www.beetlemilk.com, they will not feature the deep discount they do here. So I'd jump on it!
You mentioned stickers and patches earlier - how do I get those?
The best way is to get the highest tier - it comes with the sticker and patch sets automatically. Alternately, they are all available as add-ons. The price breakdown is simple:
1 - $6
2 - $11
4 - $19
5 - $24
1 - $3
2 - $5
3 - $8
4 - $11
5 - $14
All you have to do is add it to your pledge and let us know which ones you want, and we'll make sure you get them. Reach out at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional info, or with questions!
I'm sold! Anything else I should know before backing?
Only that we love your face. We are glad to live in a time where potential buyers don't have to have corporations tell them what they like - they can, and do, decide for themselves. It's the ultimate expression of freedom and we are glad to be contributing to the indie scene that is flourishing today. We hope that you'll decide to back us, but even if you don't, you still rule in our eyes. Keep supporting the things that matter to you, and they will live on.

Risks and challenges
Enamel pins are very expensive to produce, and time consuming as well. Each design requires it's own unique mold. This is not much of an issue, but the possibility (although doubtful) exists that the enamel pins will come back to us incorrect. To make room for such an issue, we budgeted an extra two months after the close of the campaign to adjust. We will not send you an inferior product. Being in the indie space, we can't afford to cut corners and will not. These are going to be lovely.
As far as the stickers and patches go, we are working with a company that we know and trust, and don't foresee any problems. As a bonus, the turnaround time for stickers and patches is MUCH faster than enamel pins - we will be ready to do a video demo of them before the enamel pins come back.
All of this to say that we believe we have this process locked in. We budgeted extra time to be sure, but provided the rewards come back correct we will be sending everything off before the deadline. We also will do periodic updates, via KS message and video Q&A's. If you need to get ahold of us, it's easy! Our email is email@example.com!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
