A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.

This inspired our desire to create Tacticlip® - It is the only everyday carry (EDC) multi-tool that you will forget... until you need it.
Comfortable, concealable, & quickly deployable. Our 100% original design takes the cheap 'multi-tool' hair clips and integrates a raptor-claw-style point, full-length serrated edge, file, wick holder, wire stripper, mini-screwdriver, and ruler.
This hair clip is for anyone who values that extra level of minimalist preparedness. Our Tacticlip® doesn't rely on pockets, purses, wallets, or tool belts.
Raptor Claw point tip
Serrated Edge (does not cut hair)
2x Rulers (inches & metric)
Nonofficial uses, as shared by our field testers:
Saws through zip ties
Zip tie lock pick
Pressure point kubotan
Tiddlywinks drinking game
...and many more uses. For example one field tester (and older bloke in his late 50s) actually magnetized his Tacticlip® to float on water using the surface tension. This effectively turned it into a compass. We were impressed with his innovativeness.
UltraLight Weight: 3 grams
Length: 2 inches
Serrated Teeth: 17
Serrated Teeth Style: Shark tooth
Materials: Spring Steel
Color: Black - Finish will wear depending on intensity of use
Why we need you: We've put a lot of design, testing, and iterations into Tacticlip. We are giving our friends and family a chance to see what we've been working on for the past year, and allow them (and you) the chance to be a force-multiplier for the final push of Tacticlip.
The conceptual isn't off the ground quite yet --we're about 95% there--but we'll gladly reward you if you're as passionate about making the Tacticlip a reality as we are.

Risks and challenges
1. Our main challenge we foresee is design protection; we recognize there are cheap "multi-tool hair clips" out there, but none of them have the original design and practical additions that we have integrated into our Tacticlip® design. We are hoping our fans will stand behind our original design, and love Tacticlip® as much as we do.
2. Scams; we've been burned on Kickstarter before and we hope our backers will see that we're real, down-to-earth people with a genuine, original design, just trying to change the world one hair clip at a time. We always deliver.
3. The Tacticlip® is very thoughtfully designed and field tested, however we fully acknowledge that at its core... it's a hair clip. While we think it's pretty cool, there will be the inevitable Napoleon Dynamites who break their Tacticlip® or they complain about the black finish wearing off after they saw through thick zip-ties... and they blame "lack of quality control." Despite our high-standards for product development, we know we cannot please everyone. We hope the fans who appreciate innovative designs will laugh along with us when their Tacticlip® breaks or fails in some way. We're realists after all and no design on earth is idiot-proof. (P.s. with all that said, we are ethical blokes at our core, and we stand with our fans no matter what. So if your Tacticlip® fails, just let us know and we'll make things right for you)
