Beam3D has designed an out of the box, easy-to-use solution for resin 3D printing. Currently, solutions for affordable resin printing require either experience or research to get started. Our goal was to make using a resin 3D Printer easy and affordable.
The Prism is the result of thousands of hours of use and development. The Prism removes a number of barriers through a combination of hardware and unique software features, making it approachable for non-super users.
With an easy to remove magnetic bed and a print volume of 120mm x 70mm x 150mm, the Prism is a resin printer with a 2K LCD screen that allows for high resolution prints that look like finished products. Built with an all metal chassis for durability and a dual linear rail motion system for stability, prints can be as fine as 25 micron. The 57 watt parallel LED array drives uniform light distribution across the entire build plate, edge to edge.
Auto leveling in its purest form. The leveling system actions at the beginning of every print and when homing the machine. Instead of chasing your tail around leveling and running test prints to make sure the level is right, let the machine take care of that process.
Dual Linear Rails - Reliable and repeatable Z movement is essential for high quality printing.
2K LCD Screen - The 2K LCD screen allows for high quality printing.
All Metal - The all metal frame provides a rigid structure for daily operation. Fully enclosed with convenient flip lid.
Parallel LED Array - The 57 Watt Parallel LED Array allows for even light distribution throughout the build area.
Regardless of the material, the resin calibration gives a strong start on cure times without guessing. The auto leveling system allows for beginners and experts to just print. On the fly cure time adjustment prevents the need to alter your workflow. Finally, we provide support for all major slicers.
Resin Calibration Print
Not sure what cure time to set for new resin? No problem. Avoid guess and check by using the built-in resin calibration print. This print provides a reasonable ballpark on what cure time to set for the resin being used -- getting you from guessing to printing faster. Just choose the column that shows the best results!
On-the-fly Cure Time Adjustment
Avoid nuisance around cure time while you are printing. Being able to adjust the cure time on the fly can save a number of pains like needing to reslice the file just to adjust cure time, or fine tune your cure time for a resin. Don't reslice, just print and adjust.
The Prism has a WebUI that functions as a convenient WiFi based delivery device for sliced files. In addition to delivering files, you are able to: start, stop, pause, edit profiles, and adjust printer settings.
Full Control of Machine Settings
- Anti Aliasing levels (0,2,4,8x), Movement speed, UV Power Intensity
Allowing full control over machine settings is useful to power users and casual users alike. Want to cure a layer faster? Increase the power. Want to use a thicker resin? Adjust the Z speed and distance. Want to smooth out that lower resolution model? Enable anti-aliasing. Take advantage of more settings that many printers lock out.
The Prism supports all major slicers, and will continue to be updated as the software for SLA printing evolves. We hope that this lets you choose the software YOU like instead of forcing a buggy difficult-to-use slicer with limited features. Currently, it supports files from ChiTuBox, Slic3r, Print Studio, and Creation Workshop.

In addition to the Prism, we also offer a line of 3D printer resins. They are made in America and formulated for LCD based resin printers.

The Beam Team
The Beam3D Team is composed of professionals who have been involved in consumer electronics for the majority of our careers. At our core, we are 3D printing guys, each with our own stable of 3D printers. In fact, a number of those printers are pieces that we have either developed or used in professional ventures throughout our careers from homebrew kits, entry level consumer models, and even up to industrial grade machines.
We see the need for high quality, low cost resin printers in the community, and we would like to be the ones to deliver on and support that dream.
The Prism has gone through a number of iterations. Below are some of the different phases that the Prism has gone through.

Risks and challenges
This Kickstarter is really a pre-order. What you are seeing is a production sample. That means what you see is what you will be receiving if you choose to back us. We have already spent the money in development and planning, and just need your support to place the order. Our factory is one of the longest running and highest volume 3D Printer manufacturers in the world. Units will begin shipping approximately 4-6 weeks after the campaign ends.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
