I will now let the alien talk about it, because the submission implant really hurts.
Depending on whether you are a bad Earth human or good Earth human, you may get excited or terrified for what is about to happen. Its ok, we aliens are not judging. Just experimenting. Mostly on how to not be bored, you humans are so much fun. We kidnapped this designer to help us create a board game simulation we can delight in. In the simulation, we left some of our wicked alien tech on Earth and Earth humans built a city around it. Amazingly, these humans even learned to misuse and merge some of our devices with their clockwork toys. Well, that’s a recipe for catastrophe. Anyway, you humans are doomed.
Starting up, you take control of a human adventurer (or adventuring gorilla) with a unique set of abilities and character board. You will perform all activities via a unique action building mechanic that allows you to upgrade your actions every turn - deciding between an immediate or long-term benefit.
Your adventurer will enter a randomly generated city consisting of big cardboard tiles and face down secret location cards. Some of these locations may contain events, change the mood of your character, contain secret information, or offer other opportunities.
They say it’s fun to explore these unique locations and do human things, like drinking or picking up junk from the street.
You will merge the junk and tech to make your own devices and perform new actions, combos, or even more intense human stuff -- like interaction with other animals or humans. These individuals open even more gameplay options and offer quests that reward insight and renown.
Eventually, an alpha human will decode our alien ciphers, making them the least favorite human to other players, because they will have won the game and also triggered the apocalypse.
In cooperative mode, you humans may vaguely realize your mistakes and band together to face the impending doom. You will now need to work together in order to deal with crises appearing on the map; and our terrible mechanization pylons that are turning the civilians.
You will attempt - and miserably fail - to destroy the pylons, battle our minions and rescue the civilians while trying to deal with crisis cards appearing on the map.
It is amusing how you humans think you have found a way to destroy the pylons by using our own artifacts. We let you do that from time to time, because surely, it is not just another trap to keep us entertained...

We created the game with dark matter, but we want your human dollars in order to produce this in cardboard and wood. We will take your human dollars, but you can keep the dark matter and all the rest. We may even let the designer live and release the artist from down below.

A promotional pack of cards will be attached outside the box to every copy of the game. The pack will include at least 10 cards, but the content of the pack as well as content of the game box will increase with unlocked stretch goals.
This is a Kickstarter only project and the final product is very unlikely to appear in general distribution. A limited quantity of games will be produced to serve the backers and SPIEL 2018 fair.
The games will be shipped from within EU.
Currently the game is in a state more advanced than the prototypes that were reviewed in the videos. It’s in a good shape but we are still filling the game with content and tweaking the mechanics for the best balance and smoothest possible experience. We will work on the game until the date it is handed down for print. We are intent on delivering the games for the 2018 SPIEL in Germany, as an early pick-up option. The remaining copies will be delivered in December 2018 or early 2019.
Please note that worldwide shipping cost is included in all pledges, except for the Essen pickup option.
Every early bird backer and SPIEL pickup option backer will have a chance to sign up for an alien abduction event. All the voluntary human names will be displayed on the inner sides of the game box. If alien abduction is not your thing, then do not worry. At the end of the campaign you will simply not put your name in the survey in order to skip this and make the alien probe droid sad. The aliens may feed you badly and place antennas in you, but the database hologram looks pretty cool on the cardboard so you might consider it worth it.
Beautiful Disaster Games is a one-person company run by the designer, Tomek Stasiak, who self publishes his games in his home country of Poland. After the successful release of Assault on Doomrock and its expansion, Tom teamed up again with Bartosz Plawecki to create a brand-new title with an original theme. With Bartosz as the primary artist, BD Games is intent on delivering another unique experience to the boardgaming world.
Risks and challenges
We’d like to ask you to place your trust in our abilities, because this is not our first successfully published game and there are no new logistic challenges that we have to overcome.
Exhibiting at the Essen SPIEL 2018 fair is important for us and that date is set in stone. This makes any significant delays unlikely to occur.
