We received hundreds of encouragements after sharing fully-functional prototypes of Benjamin Button with our amazing community. Thank you for boosting us!
We did not want the kids to ruin the video footage by pressing the wrong buttons. That’s why we created the first truly child friendly camera. Not only does it miss any buttons, but it’s also completely free of small parts that could pose a safety risk for small children.
Benjamin is easy-to-clip on and also easy to use. When you put it out of the box or out of the pocket, it automatically detects the change of environment and it turns on automatically.
During charging, Benjamin automatically processes the recorded video and analyzes content on three levels: (1) Face detection, (2) Sound recognition, (3) Human activity. Don’t worry, you can manually change threshold limits anytime, so it fulfills your expectations.
And when something interesting happens, you can also tap our mobile app to make sure your scene is selected in the final cut.
Our AI is therefore based on combination of machine learning and manual video evaluation.
Benjamin Button is network independent - you can either store the videos in your computer without ever uploading them online or you can easily upload them to the cloud. The choice is yours.
And if you lose the device, nobody but ourselves can access the videos stored on integrated SD card. Your precious memories are therefore protected even in this case.
And that’s not everything. Benjamin comes with many
different features, including:
Risks and challenges
Developing top-quality hardware product is a big mission. Suppliers can go bankrupt. Parts disappear. Software development takes too much time. Device does not work as planned.
We know many campaigns have failed to deliver their rewards, especially if it was their first time. In order to minimize these risks, we have accumulated experts from the field with many years of experience with hardware, software or mechanical engineering. So far we do not lack any key position and the team consists of 15 members.
We have reserved a time spot with reliable manufacturing partner with more than 20 years of experience and made pre-orders for each of crucial parts several months ahead.
Moreover, device ready for mass production is nearly finished and we can’t wait to test it on a planned roadshow. Software runs in beta and already recognizes faces and sounds. We are now fully focusing to adjust it to the hardware and recognize activity as well.
We are working day-and-night to make this project reality. We know what it takes and will keep you posted along the way.
