About this project
Who are the BBQ Pit Boys
On video, we teach the basic techniques for serving up moist and tender grilling, and great tasting barbecue.
Learn some of the basics of barbecue and grilling from us, and then experiment on your own simply by tweaking our recipes to your liking. Kick it up by adding your own favorite spices, rubs, marinades, and sauces, and in no time, you'll be known in your neighborhood as the King of Barbecue!
Thanks to our worldwide BBQ Pit Boys Chapters (now numbering over 500), brothers, members, and our 78,000+ YouTube subscribers, the BBQ Pit Boys® Show now appears on over 3,000,000 Website pages, Forums and Blogs in over 100 countries. Our 275+ instructional videos have been watched over 30 million times worldwide.
I am Bob Ahlgren, producer of the BBQ Pit Boys Show on YouTube. Most know me from YouTube's BarbecueWeb Channel. Since 2007, I’ve produced over 270 barbecue and grilling recipe videos for friends, fans, and subscribers on YouTube and Google TV. This year I was named a YouTube Chef, among only 14 worldwide chefs awarded such a distinction.
Now, here are a few facts you might be interested in.
The BBQ Pit Boys videos are watched over 1,250,000 times per month, more than the monthly video views of the Food Network and the Travel Channel on YouTube.
In addition to our YouTube Channel and our YouTube Show, the BBQ Pit Boys instructional videos have been watched several million times worldwide on Websites such as Liveleak, VideoJug, Blinx, Yahoo, AOL, Bing, and Google Video.
We've been on the Food Network's Ask Aida Show.

YOUTUBE SHOW DESCRIPTION:
The BBQ Pit Boys demonstrate the basic techniques of Old-Time Barbecue and Grilling, including what tools you'll need, how to select the correct cuts of meat for the smoker or grill, and when to use the "low and slow" and indirect grilling methods. They then encourage you to experiment with their classic "easy to do" recipes by adding your own favorite spices, rubs, marinades, and sauces. Kick-back good eating doesn't get any better than this!
This is a video we did for the NFL's Adblitz on YouTube...some bbq and grilling suggestions for the Super Bowl, or for that game you got going on in your backyard!
Why I need your help.
I have started this Kickstarter page and campaign to obtain private individual funding for the production of BBQ Pit Boys Show. I would like to continue to self-produce and not accept New York and L.A. TV production house money. Several have contacted me with their network ideas but that would have changed the nature of the show. To keep the show as is, I need fans, supporters and individual producers interested in taking the BBQ Pit Boys Show to the next level. Simply, I need you.
It costs about $2500 to produce a BBQ Pit Boys video. And yes, that's chump change compared to what the Big Networks spend. If this Kickstarter campaign is successful, I will be able to advertise, hire technicians, and purchase professional video cameras and equipment to compete directly with the big-guys in the business. I know, it won't be easy, but bring 'em on..!
As you can imagine, producing a food show is expensive. I've put countless hours into producing BBQ Pit Boys videos, and generally with out-of-pocket monies. Hiring camera and lighting technicians, editors, promoters, and the purchase of food items for the recipes is not cheap. And, there are many other costs associated with branding and the production of videos.
The dollars we raise here on Kickstarter will be used for:
- Ingredients and cooking equipment for our Shows
- Studio rentals and additional video equipment
- Videograhers and editors
- Marketing on YouTube, Google TV and Broadcast Media
Rewards for your support
For your help and support, we have some awesome rewards. Depending on the level your contribution, you will be mentioned on our Website and/or in the video credits of a future BBQ Pit Boys video as an Associate Producer, Producer, or Executive Producer. You could also receive a BBQ Pit Boys vinyl sticker for your home, auto or Pit, an official BBQ Pit Boys Pitmaster t-shirt or apron, a bottle of our BBQ Pit Boys sauce, or even a 6’x9’ BBQ Pit Boys vinyl all-weather banner!
Where we are now and where we are going.
As the #1 Barbecue and Grilling Channel, and in the top #5 of all Food Shows on YouTube, we produce about one recipe show per week. But, depending on the success of this Kickstarter campaign, we plan on producing at least 6 per month. We will be asking for contributions for our videos, as a supporter or as a Producer, about two times per month. Each time you contribute, your name (or as a gift -a name you designate), your company, association ETC will get credited on our Website. And, as a Producer, in one of our future videos.
Our success depends on you. And for your help, we're forever grateful..
Whether you can contribute or not, please check us out on YouTube, Facebook, Google +, Twitter, or on BBQPitBoys.com.
Thanks for stoppin' by,
bob, and the BBQ Pit Boys
