At the heart of the generational gap between parents and their children is video games. Kids love them. Parents can barely watch them without getting dizzy. But as parents shook their heads and walked away an entire industry emerged. A BILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY!
Here’s the thing: Whether you’re ready to believe it or not, esports leagues will soon be on par with traditional sports leagues like the NFL and the NBA.
Last year’s League of Legends World Championship set a record with 200 million viewers. Last year’s Superbowl saw its viewership plateau at a little over 103 million.
As corporate America races to market their products to players, they too are eager to be recognized and they are flocking to social media, Twitch and Discord to self promote.
But how do players know how good they really are at these games? How do they find out how their skills compare to all the other players out there?
BATTLEMAPS! provides an interactive map with (nonspecific) geo-location of players based upon their in-game statistics. Players can see how they rank against others within their neighborhood, campus, city, or across the globe.
By clicking on the interactive map, players can find local esports teams, competitions and social events.
· Get access to coaching to improve game skills
· Build Player Profiles that can be seen by collegiate and professional scouts
· Find local esports events near you
· Or, just compete with their friends to own the map
BATTLEMAPS! was cofounded in 2018 by Patrick Murphy, Mike Jackson and Rick Tyler. Based in St. Louis, MO, BATTLEMAPS! continues to be a “sweat equity project” with minimal monthly costs for a scalable, SaaS-based compute environment.

Risks and challenges
In December of 2018 we launched our 'minimal viable product.' BATTLEMAPS! is live today at battlemaps.co and player registration has doubled in the last month.
Today, BATTLEMAPS! provides player statistics for the global hit game, Overwatch. Our goal is to include support for additional games in 2019 including Fortnite, Apex Legends and Call of Duty!
Your pledge to our Kickstarter Campaign will help us to cover the additional costs associated with scaling the platform to support more games, develop additional interactive features for the map and convince our families to continue providing the amazing amount of support we’ve seen throughout development.
