The ENNie Award winning publisher, Battlefield Press International, publisher of such fine settings as The Dinosaur Protocol, Gaslight Victorian Fantasy and Robotech Macross now presents to you the latest in hard core noir role playing. Presenting for your approval, Pulp Fantastic, for use with the Savage Worlds Adventurer Edition. This book will be available as a softcover book or a hardcover book, at a size of 7x10.
Welcome to the age of the Pulps, where two-fisted action heroes and secret societies battle for control of the destiny of mankind! This book originally was designed as a Vortex system game. That version of the game is currently out of print. This book makes use of the new Savage Worlds Adventure Edition rules and using totally updated and edited material from that original. Sample pages are from the Votex version and are shown as an example of what the new book would look like, the new layout may not look like this however.
In the years after the Great War dawns a new age of heroic adventure!
From the gleaming spires of the big city, to the steaming jungles of Skull Island, brave men and women fight the forces of evil, carving their legends into the history of the 20th Century. It is an age of exploration and daring. An age of discovery, peril and mad science. It is the age of Pulp Fantastic!
Pulp Fantastic is a fast-paced game of action and adventure, where stalwart heroes face down dastardly villains, weird menaces and bizarre monstrosities in the name of all that is right and true!
Powered by the Savage Worlds Adventurer Edition, Pulp Fantastic contains everything you need to create your own high-octane pulp adventures featuring masked avengers, mad scientists, gritty gumshoes or any other kind of pulp hero you can imagine. Included are a gazetteer and timeline of the Pulp Era, rules for creating vile villains and strange inventions, and a bestiary of monstrous creatures!
Adventure calls! Will you answer?”
Pulp Fantastic takes you to the past as it should have been; an era of science heroes, masked avengers, mystery men and mad scientists. Nefarious villains and strange creatures cast their twisted shadow over civilization from their lairs in exotic locations. New and terrible technologies mix with forbidden knowledge in the hands of madmen, megalomaniacs and the rising Nazi menace!
Pulp Fantastic is the first in a series of pulp adventure sourcebooks from Battlefield Press, written by Chris Halliday (The Dinosaur Protocol), Chris Helton (Pulp Fantasy, Pulp Fantastic, Paranormal Friction), Jon Nichols (Pulp Fantasy, Pulp Fantastic), and Jonathan M. Thompson (Robotech Macross Savage Worlds, The Dinosaur Protocol, Pulp Fantastic, Gaslight Victorian Fantasy), and featuring original fiction by Jon Nichols. This book also contains an introductory adventure, "The Nemo Diary," written by Shawn D. Hilton.
All backers will receive a copy of the raw alpha rules text as soon as it becomes available. This way you can begin to use your new setting as quickly as possible.
What does this book contain?
In this book you will find details on the secret societies, new edges and hindrances, and even rules to create headquarters. You can be part of a team of vigilante heroes, or you can be solo. You can work for an organization, or maybe against several. You will get information on several pulp villains, including the ability to punch Nazis.
All material compatible with Gaslight Victorian Fantasy (SW) corebook and Agents of G.A.I.A. (SW) corebook.
Instead of having them as stretch goals we have decided to throw the first two Pulp Fantastic supplements into the mix as Add-Ons. We will release the RAW text of both books to those of you that purchased them, by the end of the year so they can go ahead and start being used. The final PDFs probably wont be ready until at least April 2020 as we still need to purchase art for both books and have them in our layout schedule, with the print being ready for release about June 2020. However, if that is acceptable to you, then please consider purchasing one or both books below as add-ons. As with Pulp Fantastic, you will receive a voucher via DTRPG to have the print book shipped to you, if you chose to have a print. These books will only be able to be available to be printed in Softcover format only
