(Publishers note: The text of the game is finished, and the draft will be made available to all backers approximately three to four weeks after the kickstarter ends.)
In a distant future, Man is long gone, but the mice and rats have evolved and developed their own modern societies, complete with commerce, transportation, education, family values, friendships, prejudices... and war. While an uneasy peace exists between the nations of Mousputa and Ratveria, subversive forces are at work to make sure it doesn't last, forces willing to use the terrible weapons of ancient Man! It's up to you to make sure that Rodentkind does not follow Man into extinction!
In this setting, developed by Ben Dunn (Ninja High School, Warrior Nun Areala), you can play a mouse or a rat. You are soldiers, explorers and diplomats, searching the wilderness for anything that could help maintain the peace between the two nations.
Mighty Tiny: Tales of the Old Empire the RPG is developed and published by Battlefield Press International, and written by Adrian Jones and Jonathan M. Thompson. It is built on the skeleton of the OneDice system developed by Peter Cakebread and Ken Walton.
Mighty Tiny:Tales of the Old Empire is a role playing game suitable for ages 10 and up. It will be a 6 x 9 rulebook, approximate 160 pages in length, with a color cover and black and white interiors.
What is OneDice?
OneDice is a quick and easy role-playing game designed for multiple genres of role playing. How does the system work? Characters have three attributes: Strong, Clever and Quick. They also have a variety of skills. Add together attribute and skill, roll a D6, add that, and try and beat the target number or the opponent’s roll. The rest is just variations on the theme. Character generation takes about five minutes.
$2000 - Might Tiny Gamemasters Screen. We are going to do a PDF insert of a Mighty Tiny gamemasters screen.to be given to all backers at the $10 and above levels. There may be something in the future where we do a print version, but that is not currently in the plan.
$2400 Adventures in the Old Empire. Embark on an adventure in the Old Empire, a place where you can discover fame, fortune, adventure and the lost ruins of the Old Empire. Written by Adrian Jones and will be included in the game. You can learn about Adrian in his bio written below.
$3000 The Lost. Have you wondered whatever happened to the human race? Come and see what happened, it's not what you expected. Written by Jonathan M. Thompson and estimated release in June 2018. If we reach this goal you will receive the PDF for free.
$3500 Adventure the Second. If this stretch goal is reached then we will have a second, independent adventure written. Estimated release May 2018. all backers will receive a copy of the PDF for free.
What will the funds be used for?
We are using these funds for many purposes, they will be used to pay authors, artist, layout, to print promotional material and to pay licensing fees. These things will be paid out immediately on the receipt of funds from Kickstarter. Additionally, Kickstarter takes 10% of whatever total we amass in fees. The remaining amount will be dived up as such:
- Artist fees: 25% of funds
- Licensing fees 35% of funds
- Layout fees 10% of funds
- Author fees 25% of funds
- All remaining fees will be used for miscellaneous project related materials.
What does access to print on demand at cost mean?
When the book is done, you will receive a link to the print on demand copy at cost. Then you can pay DriveThruRPG roughly $10 + shipping to your location and they will print and ship to you directly a 6 x 9 softcover (or hardcover, depending on your choice), black & white version of the game.
This means 100% of backer money goes toward creating this project, and we don't have to charge additional money upfront or increase the goal to cover the costs of printing and shipping. This project's #1 goal is to finish the book and get into your hands!
The exception to this is the higher tiers, we will have to have those books shipped to us to sign and then shipped to the recipient. This will also cause a delay in getting the books out to you, and for that we apologize.

Risks and challenges
Like other projects of this type, this project is not without risks. Delays can happen, as we are only human. We will keep in contact with you concerning potential delays and such. The biggest possible delay will come from any stretch goals that we may include. The risk of delay happens anytime you put control in the hands of another person, who has their own issues they must deal with as well.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
