      Hi all,

      Update coming tonight, stay tuned!

    2. Tommy Droese on

Andrew Ames: It is clear that he's working hard to fully perfect this game. You should cut him some slack. I see this is you're first Kickstarter, but you just need to be trusting and patient. If you didn't trust him and his idea's, why would've you backed in the first place?

      Andrew Ames on

Great. I'm totally down for building the best product possible but at this point I hope it truly is the final build. May I suggest for efficiency you ship in alphabetical order. I don't think my level of patience is conducive to Kickstarter. I hope you release a product that is worth the wait.

      Thank you,

      Andy Ames

      Hi Andrew,

I'm currently at MAGfest playtesting the final build of the game. The update is going out when I return home.

"I’m going to start posting updates every two weeks from here on out to keep everyone informed, even if they’re unexciting. I understand that a delay is disappointing, but it becomes alarming if you don't understand why it's happening or how long it will last."

Thanks for the update Andrew!! That ROM upgrade is awesome, I can't wait to encounter all the surprises. My buddies and I will no doubt have SRR in regular rotation for our video/board/card game night for years to come.

PS. I'm so incredible pumped my taunt made it into this NES game!!! It's like fulfilling a childhood dream I didn't realize I had :)

      Andy,

Thank you for your prompt response. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I hope you can see how I misunderstood what you meant by "started production." I've never used Kickstarter but I'm aware of stories of creators failing to deliver. I backed because I felt that there was a high probability that you weren't full of beans. When I saw what I thought was a deception I figured it was just my bad luck that I got Kickfarted on. Can't wait to play it.

      Hi Andrew,

When I'm producing the carts they remain blank until I flash the software onto them. When they come off of the assembly line they only go through diagnostics to verify that they're good and they sit on a rack until it's time to ship. At that point I'll flash the latest version with the NTSC/PAL region for the particular backer and put it in a box.

Please understand that when I say that I'm still working on the game still it's that I'm trying to make it as good as it could possibly be in any spare time that I have in between production. I'm in a unique scenario where I can't patch the game, so a simple bug can't be fixed once it's out in the wild. The tremendous amount of support has allowed me to make the game even better in ways that I don't want to spoil.

      I hope that makes sense!
      Andy

On October 21st you said you were in production. Then on November 6th you talk about how you took the "latest build" to an October 29 event and that you've have some ideas for improvements based on the feedback you received. I will admit that I'm disappointed that you are going to miss the estimated delivery date. Especially since you said you would likely only need half the time you allotted to deliver the rewards. However that's not why I'm upset. I'm upset because you misrepresented your progress. On October 21st you said that you had started production. You're not stupid. You know full well that "started production" means you are making the final product. Now progress has changed to "in the final stretch." I wonder what that actually means.

    10. Gabriel on

Hey Andrew thanks for the recent update, glad to hear assembly is under way :) Are we still on target to hit that November delivery date for early cart backers?

Andrew you should use your dual port ram interface, combined with something like this

      https://www.walmart.com/ip/Squirrel-Products-Lightning-Reaction-Reloaded-Shocking-Party-Game/133547777…

which is the squirrel products lightning reaction shocking game, so that when the person looses he gets shocked, that way you will introduce actual fear into the person pulling the trigger, the original game you are doing looks great but this additional will push it over the edge. Making the player actually be afraid to pull the trigger.

      Hey all!

Big update coming soon - but so you know where we're at - we've started production! It'll have gameplay video of the new features in action and details on the manufacturing process.

Regarding the delivery addresses, I don't have any on file yet - I'm holding off until the last possible moment to send the survey so I'll have the most up to date for everyone.

      Thanks!
      Andy

Same problem as someone down there. I've moved and need to change the delivery address! Messaged you Andrew but no reply as yet. Any updates?

      Hi all!

Just a quick update - production will start at the end of July, I've been in the process of negotiating price for the remaining components I need / finalizing label art. The soundtrack for the $5 reward is currently being mastered.

I'll send a proper update soon - I'd like to get a few photos of the parts when they arrive.

      Thanks!

Does anyone else think it's a bit odd that there has been no update after the Kickstarter finished? Usually there is a "Thank You!" Message or something... I don't know.

Suggestion-Question: Since the cowboy will get some more sprites, I want to ask about re-touching his "leaning back" face. The first few times I saw that screenshot I thought there were two different cowboys. Is that sort of thing in the cards?

So glad I had the opportunity to upgrade from cart only to boxed as the last moment. Somebody dropped their early bird $70 pledge level and I upgraded, keeping my earlybird status. Also super exited to see this got the $80,000 pledge stretch goal. I have always enjoyed zapper based games on NES. Kudos that this will work even on flat panel with the AVS, but I always keep a CRT handy for Duck Hunt and Hogan's Alley. I'll probably play this on the tube too! :D

Must say, very surprising on the amount raised. Congrats!
