"Adds just the right amount of tactics and strategy to not make it a pure dexterity game. Just the right amount of everything that I like. I don't have something like this. When a designer comes up with something that is fresh and new, it definitely gets a spot for me."

What is Barrage Battle?
Barrage Battle is a tactical card and board game requiring the skill of dexterity as well as strategy. It combines the physical technique of games like darts and pool with the strategical elements of a game like Memoir '44. Barrage Battle requires players to throw projectile dice at targets in addition to maneuvering units around the board. The game is easy to learn, yet challenging to master which makes it engaging for players of all levels.
How is Barrage Battle Played?
Barrage Battle is for 2 players and plays in about 45 minutes. Each turn, players will deploy Units, Structures, War Machines and cast Spell cards to the board. The goal of the game is to eliminate the other player's King and the first player to do so wins. What sets this game apart is that the ranged Unit, War Machine and Spell cards will require players to throw projectile dice and even cards at enemy targets. Discover if intelligent war design can outwit a master of nimble dexterity, or if an expert balance of brain and brawn will win the day.
The Story of Barrage Battle
We love games of all types including video games, board games, card games, and dice games. We also enjoy physical games like darts, horseshoes, cornhole and billiards. We noticed that there are not a lot of options that combined the two, so we decided to make a game that required both dexterity and strategy. Our goal was to create a game that is two player, fun, with rules that were easy to learn and had a high replay value. It was also important to us for our game to be affordable, yet showcase high quality artwork and contain high quality components. We started the first version of Barrage Battle about two years ago in our studio apartment in Colorado with index cards, print paper and some dice. After a cross country move to Pennsylvania, much play testing, and saving, we were finally able to invest in 14 high quality printed versions of the game to demo with other gamers and reviewers. Our Kickstarter goal is to raise enough funds for a first round print so we can bring Barrage Battle to tabletops everywhere!
The Future of Barrage Battle
We have a lot of ideas in the works for Barrage Battle. We are planning a card expansion and some of the expansion cards are included with all pledge levels of the full game if we reach our stretch goals. We are working on a 3 and 4 player expansion. We have designs for new impact and projectile dice designed to fly through the air and land on the board in different ways. Our goal with everything we do is to deliver high quality components and focus on the players.
Risks and challenges
You may have noticed we pulled our first campaign for Barrage Battle. Even though we were on track to successfully fund, we felt like there had to be something we could do to lower our price point. After all, the whole reason we made a game in the first place was to share something we love with people who love gaming. We learned so much in the few days after we initially went live and realized that we missed the mark in some aspects. After reevaluating our project, negotiating with our production company and making a deal with a fulfillment center, we were able to cut pricing significantly and bring Barrage Battle to the public at a much lower cost for the game itself as well as bring down shipping prices! We are very fortunate to be able to get Barrage Battle out into the world at a lower rate without making any changes to the level of quality built into our first project.
We want to get Barrage Battle to our backers as soon as possible. We understand that long wait times can be frustrating, so our mission is to have Barrage Battle and all rewards to our backers no later than December 2016. Because we have a fully finished product, we feel confident we can deliver by no later than the end of the year. Six months might seem like a long time, but from the perspective of a bulk order and putting together each game along with the rewards, we think it is an aggressive goal. As a thank you to all the backers who believe in us, will work hard to meet our delivery goal and get Barrage Battle into your hands and on to the table as soon as possible!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
