We saw an average store turnover of 3-5 units per month with our Beta version of BaRPG at local retailer partners in Amsterdam. These partners are eagerly awaiting BaRPiG’s release, as improvements in gameplay, visuals, and Kickstarter acclamation has only increased its marketability.
We have an excellent offer for retailers during this Kickstarter campaign only. For more information please email us at email@example.com.
Help us reach 20 Boardgame Geek fans or 50 Facebook Shares or 320 Followers on Twitter, and every time we reach one of those goals we'll give our backers the choice of 3 dares related to BARPIG's gameplay to vote on.
Dare Phil to charm a random stranger at Amsterdam Central Station? Done! Dare Johno to try the Rumrauder out with a group of rugby players? Piece of cake!
We've already reached two out of our 3 goals, and have performed our first Share for a Dare on Tuesday July 25th 2017. Here's a video of the fun we had enacting the Pourceror - Hex of Animality.
Our Next Share for a Dare is scheduled for August 5th, our last campaign day and also during the Amsterdam Gay Pride. We'll be performing and filming the dare once again on location and sharing the compilation afterwards. Our Backers are now able to vote for their favourite dare. If you wish to join us for our second Share for a Dare, please feel free to e-mail us!
Our last Share for a Dare will be performed after our campain, when we reached that goal! So start sharing to reach our final Facebook goal to see an Aussie and Canadian wreak BARPIG havoc on Amsterdam!
We've got a special bonus for our backers in this campaign! Presenting the limited edition “The Art of Barpig” art book.
- Development story of how BaRPG came to be, and became BARPIG, by the game designers Jonathan Franklin and Phillip Melchers
- Artistic journey of the game with footnotes and original sketches by our highly acclaimed illustrator Frederick van de Bunt (Revenge of the Dictators, Gamboni, Mad King, Privateers: Sea of Legends).
- The lore of BARPIG and the various Character backgrounds and artistic development.
The Artbook will hardcove and stitched bound, measuring 210 x 148mm, and containing around 60 pages of exclusive content.
Frederick van de Bunt's artistic talents, experience and unique style made BARPIG what it is today and we are deeply grateful to him for all his advice and hard work.
If you want to see or know more about his work, or what he can do for your project, check out his website: www.frederickvandebunt.nl
BARPIG was made for shipping! It’s size lets it fit very neatly in any standard letterbox. You won’t need to be home for the postman to accept delivery.
We've contracted with both the Dutch Postal Services as well as Ascendia Post to dispatch BARPIG worldwide, having arranged competitive rates for all of our reward types. These rates are also already integrated in the pledge manager.

What started out as a bunch of silly puns written on a bar napkin has since become our out of control hobby; A seriously fun and highly portable game that’s perfect for anyone, anywhere and everywhere. We’re ready to bring BARPIG to the world and we believe Kickstarter is just the place to make this pig fly!
How far along are you?
BARPIG’s development has been a long process. It was imperative for us that by the time we launch we have a fully tested and illustrated game, and secured agreements with our European manufacturer and dispatchers. The game is ready, and our manufacturers and dispatchers are standing by. We’re ready to rumble, now it's up to you to help us get funded.
Our total project costs come in at just over €12,700 for 2000 units. This campaign will give us an initial investment boost of €3,000. The remaining €9,700 will come from our own savings; That's how much we believe in BARPIG! We’ve taken into consideration worst case scenarios for manufacturing, shipping, dispatch, and taxation costs.
We should reach our funding goal with pledges for 148 games. We intend to recoup our costs by selling the remainder of the initial production run post campaign both ourselves as well as through our retail partners locally and worldwide.
Kickstarter offers us an incredible opportunity to capture a large international audience, while also being able to further connect with as well as reward our supporters (we’re huge believers in the value of loyalty).
Kickstarter has also proven itself a valuable testing ground for us, as it was through our initial launch that we were able to get the vital feedback we needed to make our great game even better. We’re convinced in our game’s ability to succeed in the market.
Risks and challenges
Back in March 2017 we ran our first Kickstarter campaign. From this experience we’ve learned a lot about what is expected from us. We truly believe that we are ready this time. The game is already created, tested, fully illustrated, backed up, and ready to go.
Over the course of our development we’ve managed to build a strong relationship with our European manufacturer. Our game is relatively easy to produce. It's just cards, a dice, and a box. We don't anticipate delays in production once it's underway and are aiming to have your product ready by October. Either way, our quoted production costs have been locked in until after the end date of the Kickstarter campaign. This also includes shipping costs from the factory to fulfillment. Furthermore, in case of bankruptcy of the producer, we’ve decided to hold off full payment until after delivery.
As a side note, to ensure against possible losses between production and fulfillment we've taken up an insurance policy that will guard against any unforeseeable circumstances (i.e. the pigs decide to revolt?). If the situation requires it, we've also got personal cash reserves should any additional financing be required to get you your pledges. We believe in doing this fairly, and we’ll fight tooth and nail to deliver you our fantastic game.
Fulfillment itself will be carried out by us up until 2,000 pledges. Beyond that, we will enlist the help of a fulfillment company and will have enough buffer in our revenues to adjust for that increased cost.
We're using international postal services to send out the pledges, and have a transport cost quote fixed with our partner in this Ascendia Postal Services. Naturally if you feel you'd rather use registered mail or a courier service, there is room to customize that with us and we'll be sure to organise for you a competitive rate.
If there are more questions you can consult us via our blog, email, social media, or during our weekly live streams.
We are looking forward to seeing the results of our hard work. So please help us make the world a little bit more silly and help launch BARPIG.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
