Kuzushi (coo-zoo-she) "Hugs & Kisses" is easy to learn and challenging to master. It's a portable game of balance and control that keeps you on your toes. You and your opponent place "Hugs & Kisses" (X & O cards) to build and control a 6x6 board. Bases influence adjacent squares and flags show who has the most bases nearby. Win by filling the board with more cards of your color or be the first to play your last card.
- Tile placement with unique area influence and bounce mechanics
- Build & control a 6x6 board in any direction as you play
- Dynamic play with lots of back & forth
- 20 Minute game for 2 players
- 3 Different unit types
- Fits in your pocket
- 19 Red cards, 19 Black cards (bases printed on the front, flags on the back)
- 1 city card (Black on the front, Red on the Back)
- 1 rules card (printed on both sides)
- Smooth, rich color finish
- 2" (51mm) square
- 300gsm thick
In a pocket size tuck box:
- Gloss finish
- 2.125" (54mm) square
- 5/8" (16mm) thick
FIRST split the cards up by color, one set for each player. Players will use their color cards to build & fight to control a 6x6 board (or an 8x8 board if you combine two copies of the game). Each of their cards has a base side and a flag side, use whichever you need on your turn.
TO START player 1 place a city card as your first turn. This card counts toward your score, but doesn't influence any cards around it. It evens the odds between players.
ON EACH TURN place a base card next to any other card or flip over one of your flag cards to promote it to a base. THEN use flags to mark who controls each of the 4 spots next to a base. Control a spot by having more base cards next to it. Return flags to their player if they no longer control that spot.
TO WIN fill the board with more cards of your color or run out of your cards.

We've had great reviews so far for the original Kuzushi and Kuzushi "Seasons" and the "Hugs & Kisses" edition plays with the same rules.
Down the Vent:
"I just love it! Wow, there's a lot of game in this little box. Kuzushi gets two thumbs up from me. I highly recommend you check it out!"
"Kuzushi is a sublimely simple abstract with the sort of minimalism that will really appeal to some players, myself definitely included. It’s a perfectly portioned helping for two, providing a few minutes of quick strategy. Considering its price point, form factor, and portability, I think Kuzushi can easily fit into anyone’s collection (and pocket), and will add plenty of game opportunities for those who appreciate its accessible design." — Andrew Fisher for Gameosity
The Inquisitive Meeple:
"Kuzushi is one of the best pocket games I have played. It would make a great gateway abstract to introduce people to the genre, who may be interested in abstract games, but don’t want to get into ones that have lots of rules or piece movement variations like Chess or Hive. Though let me say, even if you are into abstracts (like I am) that Kuzushi is still worth being added to your collection, as it is quick, very portable, and a great price." — Ryan Sanders for The Inquisitive Meeple
"Kuzushi is a pleasantly peculiar example of smart design decisions. A true pocket-sized abstract strategy game is hard to come by (sorry, Hive) and Kuzushi is a lovely thing to pull out for those in-between times. If you enjoy abstract strategy games (or, like me, have an ongoing fascination with the very small) Kuzushi is a fun treat to add to your library." — Kurt Refling for Meeple Mountain
All versions of Kuzushi play with the same rules. We've tested and played hundreds of games with hundreds of players. We've also simulated hundreds of thousands of games on computer to help hone the rules and gameplay. We've gone through a year of development to make Kuzushi fun, solid and re-playable.
We're an indie game company focused on portable tabletop games. We make games that are:
- Quick to learn
- Easy to setup
- Fun to play again and again
Our first Kickstarter funded with over 150% and we shipped our rewards on time. This is our second Kickstarter and we're ready to start production as soon as we're funded.

Risks and challenges
This will be our fifth game to go to production and we're confident in our manufacturer and shippers. That said, the biggest potential risk would be a shipping delay. To reduce this risk, we've over-estimated ship times and also have contingency plans for additional fulfillment help if needed.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
