Greetings, Video Wizards!

I know it has been a while since our last post. Ballyhoo Motion Pictures has been busy wrapping up other bonus feature documentaries to help financially support the final assets needed for "Celluloid Wizards in the Video Wasteland". Things are now moving forward again and we hope to have the festival cut of the documentary completed for the late-Summer film festival circuit! Thank you for your continuing patience and support! It will definitely pay off in the end!

FAREWELL TO ONE OF OUR OWN:

It saddens me to report that Writer/Producer Paul De Meo passed away on February 26th. I first became familiar with the work of Danny Bilson and Paul De Meo when I rented the VHS of "Trancers" at my local Mom & Pop video store in 1985. Because of that film, I was an instant fan of both Empire Pictures and the work of this unique screenwriting duo. But it was their work on "Eliminators" that influenced me to produce an epic documentary about the company, 30 years later. Bilson and DeMeo's films provide a lightning-fast cybernetic connection to my childhood. Whenever I watch an episode of "The Flash" or spin my blu-ray of "The Rocketeer", I gleefully recall how much I wanted to inhabit the fantastical, retro-centric worlds they created. Now, when I watch these same films, I will also remember Paul's kindness, support, and generosity.

"JACK'S BACK" - NEW TRAILER ON THE HORIZON:

While we are waiting on the final 35mm and VHS elements to be transferred, we are starting work on the new THEATRICAL TRAILER for the Empire Pictures documentary. Screenwriter C. Courtney Joyner ("Prison" and "Trancers III") wrote the narration for actor Tim Thomerson as he reprised his role as Jack Deth in the "Trancers" film series. Look for more TRAILER news in future posts...
