My project is to get my comic, To Be Continuous, a lot of exposure. It's a memoir about my daily struggles with PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma, and bipolar disorder. The comic is about having fun and breaking down the stigma of mental illness. I plan on using the funds to buy and sell merchandise, enter comic festivals, buy ad space on the web, and produce physical copies of my comics. The funds will also go into operating costs which includes Adobe Suite subscription, Internet, website costs, and art materials. I plan on pulling this off by spreading the word through Facebook and my website, but this won't happen without the help of you, the Kickstarter community. I need your help in spreading the word about my efforts to produce meaningful comics that will enrich the lives of many people around the world. Thank you for reading this and viewing my page.
Risks and challenges
I've been working on having a complete project ready before starting this campaign. I teamed up with a local shirt company, Monkey in a Dryer, to produce my t-shirt rewards. I've also found a printing company to produce the posters as well. I have plenty of stickers and can get more if needed. I calculated the shipping costs and know that with the extra revenue from the fund raising I'll have enough to implement my project successfully. My comic is a weekly, on-line journal as of now. Once I have enough material for a book I'm going to print copies for physical sale through a local book store. When I have data on sales I can approach a publishing company not only with my material, but also with sales figures. Some of the risks are my intermittent bouts of depression. These can weigh me down at times. My plan for that is setting weekly deadlines for my comics. I find myself extremely motivated when I have a community that expects work. With your help and support, I know I can make this project successful.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
