About this project
Bakelite 78 has been busy in the past year. They have recorded an amazingly rich new album, played a weekly residency (among other shows), and are preparing for a tour. They are all ready to release What The Moon Has Done, and have a short run of CD's practically on the press. But this collection of songs is the very kind that would sound excellent coming off of a vinyl disc. Which is where you, the backer, come in.
Although originally slated for a 180 gram 12" vinyl LP, we discovered the album was a tad too long to fit. One option is to put it out on 12" but cut a track or two. The other option is to make a double album, and the band thought it could be especially cool on 10" vinyl, (the original size of 78 r.p.m. discs). Either way, it will feature original artwork by Jeffrey Rial, and photography by Brian Robertson and Christopher Fischbach, it will be a slick, beautiful package.
To make a run of 10" or 12" double disc albums, through United Record Pressing, it will cost approximately $5000.00. The backing remaining will help the band afford a publicist and tour manager. A publicity campaign runs about $5000.00 for a 6 month campaign. We thank you for your patronage! Please tell your friends!!!
