Hey folks - Alexander and Sean from Bad Kerning here! We’re excited to share our latest game creation with you, Sell Outs - Traveling Salesman Edition.
Sell Outs - Traveling Salesman Edition is a portable card game about solving curious problems with absurd creative solutions! This turn-based game is for with 3-5 players, and takes 30 to 60 minutes to play.
Playing Sell Outs - Traveling Salesman Edition is quite simple. Each round, one player, designated as the customer, reads a problem aloud to the other players. Every other player chooses one product and one feature from their hand (which they think will solve the problem) as well as a random feature from the draw pile, placing them on the table. Either side of any card may be used for the pitch.
Starting with the player to the customer’s left, that player tries to pitch their product to solve the customer’s problem. The random feature will be flipped over partway through your pitch for a twist! Once all pitches are complete, the customer chooses the product that best solved their problem. The round winning player discards their used cards, and does not draw new ones. All other players discard only one feature of their choosing, and pick the rest of the cards they played back up into their hand.
The player to the customer’s left becomes the new customer, and play continues until one player has sold out of all of their cards. That player is the winner
Inspired by Make100 (a creative prompt launched by Kickstarter for campaigns to make 100 of something!), we’ve created Sell Outs - Traveling Salesman Edition, a stand-alone game that will be compatible with the main set (that we’ll be relaunching later this year). The smaller size of this game makes it incredibly portable, and doesn’t sacrifice any key gameplay elements. The box it comes in will be no larger than a deck of standard playing cards!
If you back us within the first week: We cover the cost of shipping via a lower reward threshold on the game for US shipping. (NOTE: Non-US backers will get the same amount off the game, but the increased shipping still applies. See the FAQ or send us a message if you need any more information).
Here's what you get at our lowest reward level:
Add $5 to your pledge and send us a message if you want the Pocket Armor (a tin carrying case to protect your cards from threats like keys, loose change, and your enemies.)
We're also offering the chance to early back our next Kickstarter for the main 450+ card set of Sell Outs. You will still receive your Traveling Salesman Edition in November, and you'll get the main set early next year.
If you'd like to pick up your copy instead of shipping it, we will refund you the cost of shipping at pickup.
We cover the rules in the video above, but they can also be found here:
Our goal is $2,000. This will cover the cost of printing and distribution. Any additional funds will be used to offset the goal of our next campaign for the main set of Sell Outs coming in November.

Alexander Daise is a devoted and passionate gamer, movie-goer, and self-deprecating awful comedian. Nothing makes him happier than delivering laughter to a roomful of people, especially those who might not know each other well (yet).
Sean and Alexander came together to work on Sell Outs, and form their company, Bad Kerning LLC. Bad Kerning is a small startup with big ideas. We're making tabletop games, online videos, and potentially much more in the future.

Risks and challenges
Being relatively inexperienced in some aspects of this industry, fulfillment and international dealings are some obvious challenges for us. However, thanks to us partnering with Erik Norris, this challenge is mitigated. Erik brings with him a huge amount of experience (>10 years) with many aspects, and these challenges present no obstacle for us now. We're prepared to go the distance for our backers!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
