We're so excited to use this platform to raise the funds that will be put to use in making our album release really count.
Here's the gist of our campaign: We will use the funds raised here to pay our album release expenses, chiefly amongst those hiring a publicist to help us build awareness for the album. We've captured the attention of EMI and Lightyear records, and a publicist will help us maximize their reach. EMI is distributing the album digitally but we take on all the foundation expenses for now. Those expenses also include pressing the vinyl and cds, recording costs, t-shirts, posters, web hosting, photos, the list goes on and on. Your donations are so greatly appreciated. Please read on for the full story, or donate now... You = Sugar Mommy Daddy, We = Sugar Baby...Teardrops...

I think for years Megan, Gerry and I have been involved with or witnessed others' music projects that had the legs but came up short in the long-run because of lack of luck, strategy, or simply, the money.
With the digitzation of everything it's never been easier to "put music out." Getting it out doesn't necessarily mean getting it heard. We believe very much in the quality of the work that we're releasing on this album and we feel it deserves the chance to be heard. We intend to purchase a stake in that chance.
The stakes for the project overall are higher in that we've secured a digital distribution deal through the international distributor and label EMI, and we want to maximize that opportunity. We believe that this is a symbol of someone's faith in this band to find an audience. But EMI isn't covering any sort of expense ,apart from distribution costs, that a proper label would usually incur, such as footing the bill for hiring a publicist, the actual pressing of vinyl or cd's and recording costs.
We've decided to raise funds here principally to hire a publicist to help get the record placed for reviews and drive interest to the band. We've put the work in up to this point and we want to see it all the way through. Press ain't cheap, so the bulk of the funds raised here will wind up going to cover the expenses of an individual or team who will work with us on making sure that tastemakers and trend spotters get the chance to pan or praise, thus sounding the alarm that we've arrived, to be dismissed or further investigated, we're hoping for the latter.
And these hopes aren't unfounded. The way this band is playing together right now and what we're playing together right now is exciting, for each of us and for those who see us.
Baby Teardrops is surreptitiously avant. It's a drums bass guitar rock band but with passion for deep color and emotion and sass and swagger, conspiracy and eccentricity, sincerity and theater.
And we care about writing songs that can be remembered and sung. Sing-songy blazing cuts.
We think that one thing you'll gain from watching the band's video hosted here is the sense that we are down to earth people who have a dream to play music that we're not ashamed of and who demand a lot from ourselves. Some bands are born organically from childhood and school connections. We are three people whose commonalities may not be the first thing noticed when we're together. We each conduct ourselves in very different ways across the days and nights to get by, but we've found something really cool in our friendship and collaboration. We feel that once we're on stage, it very obvious that something binds us in a unique way. When this is the sort of experience you work hard to develop, you want to see it work out. A wee tad of notoriety would go a long way in helping us continue to develop and stay close to our art.
In these times this empowerment is a tremendously precious gift. We sincerely thank you for your investment in our vision.
