Let the Octo-Victorian Games Begin
Inspired by Kickstarter's Make 100 initiative, Baby Tattoo and Brian Kesinger have designed a limited edition memory/matching card game that is as beautiful as it is simple.

The total amount pledged to this micro campaign has surpassed an unexpected $10,000, so we added something unexpected to the rewards.
Brian will randomly hide a small original sketch in 1 out of every 10 game sets!
And all backers will find a pair of Otto Jokers added to their card sets.
The Game
The debut version of this marvelous game will be the "Red Edition" which will be strictly limited to 100 sets. Each OctoMatch Red set will be numbered and signed by Brian Kesinger. Also, in response to wonderfully overwhelming demand, a "Black Edition" has been added to the campaign. OctoMatch Black sets will not be signed or numbered, nor will there be a predetermined limit to the quantity produced.
In keeping with Kickstarter's Make 100 vibe, Brian hand inked each of the original drawings for the game's Otto the Octopus images at his home studio in Southern California before digitally painting the vivid colors.
The cards will be made by a local print shop and personally assembled by the Baby Tattoo team at their Los Angeles company headquarters.

Because everything will be done on an intimate scale, the sets will ship promptly at the beginning of February (arriving at most locations in time for Valentine's Day... so consider giving a set to that special octopus-lover in your life).
The Rewards
Backers who pledge at the $25 level will receive one OctoMatch game as their reward. Additional premium reward tiers include one OctoMatch game with extras like Brian's brand new paper doll book, a quirky solitaire board game (that never ends), and one-of-a-kind original drawings of Otto created specifically for this project.
Dressing Your Octopus is a set of good old-fashioned paper dolls and costumes in limited edition hardcover and standard softcover formats. Book rewards will be signed by Brian Kesinger.
Circus Infinitum was created by Brian Kesinger and Baby Tattoo as a unique gift for attendees of Beyond Brookledge (an annual magic and vaudeville event). The game (which includes references to Beyond Brookledge participants Amazing Johnathan, Tim Powers and Puddles Pity Party) is intended for one player, and has no beginning and no end. The thick wood playing board was made by the fine art experts at Prints on Wood, and each game includes a metal Baby Tattoo pawn and a single black die. Eight of these rare tabletop games signed by Brian Kesinger and Bob Self were offered as premium rewards bundled with OctoMatch Red sets. Because these rewards were snapped up so quickly, 8 additional Circus Infinitum games signed by Brian and Bob are being offered as rewards bundled with OctoMatch Black sets.
This campaign offers a rare opportunity to own a large (approximately 8"x10" matted and framed original drawing of Otto by Brian Kesinger. Most of Brian's Victoria and Otto illustrations are created digitally, but the original art for the OctoMatch card set was hand drawn and inked. The eight original black and white drawings are being offered here as premium rewards on a first-come/first-served basis, and each drawing will be bundled with one of the last remaining Red Edition OctoMatch games. Shipping costs are not included in the pledge amount for these rewards - actual shipping charges for each framed reward will be arranged with backers after the campaign ends.
Each of the OctoMatch rewards, from the basic card game through the premium offerings, celebrate the fine art of human interactivity. Objects you can touch... emotions you can feel.
About the Artist
Brian Kesinger is an award winning artist who has worked at the world's most famous animation studio for two decades. His Octo-Victorian characters Victoria Prismall and her pet land-octopus Otto are renowned for their globetrotting adventures.
Risks and challenges
The OctoMatch game is being made locally, and the process is being overseen personally by the experienced project creators. Tthere are really no risks in the production process itself; however, there is always a chance of the project being delayed (although in this case a delay is very unlikely), so the shipping date is not guaranteed.
