About this project
The Glass Bead Game is an open Collective Creativity game with a companion App for linking bridges between players. The game technique stimulates visual thinking and logics, enabling you to create endless combinations of rules and game mechanics. Everyone can contribute to the game and become a Creator on the social playground of The Glass Bead Game. Enjoy classic games and create new ones, invite others to play and co-create.
The game will be localised in ENGLISH, GERMAN, FRENCH. More languages will be added as stretch goals for the benefit of other nations.
108 glass beads, 6 x 6 square game boards and 2 dice provide an ideal ground to spark your imagination. Playing around with the beads creates an effect of freedom for your imagination. The technique of the game stimulates visual thinking and logics. The creative mind is unleashed and ready to go beyond experienced interpretations. By adding a meaning to the beads and game boards, we get an infinite number of possible combinations. Develop your game — think & easily design rules and mechanics on the Game Canvas. The Glass Bead Game is inspired by The Glass Bead Game, a book by German born Swiss writer Hermann Hesse who received the Nobel Prize in literature in 1946. However, with all we know, the game remains a subject of fascinating interest and mythical curiosity. With the power of the Collective Creativity we can Discover the Legend Together.
A glass bead can embody and reflect any thought, highlighting its essence and individual qualities. Pieces of mathematics and music, literature, philosophy, history or geography facts and more can all be used as game elements. Simply use regular markers and post it strips to add meaning.
The game is played on 6 x 6 grid game boards. Two dice can turn it into a scalable coordinate plane. As the game board is transparent, it can be endlessly varied, giving an unlimited space for your imagination.
