I'm Aysha... and I'm a Hebrew School Teacher. Also, an actress and writer, but instead of getting a job as a waiter after graduating high School I fell into a job getting kids ready for their bar mitzvahs. But, here's the thing... I didn't really feel like a grown woman and I was teaching kids about becoming adults. So, I wrote everything down and went on a personal journey to become a grown up while working with kids. And honestly, most of it was hilarious. So, I bundled it all together into a show performed it all around Los Angeles at the Westside Comedy Theater, Upright Citizen's Brigade, and Improv Olympic, but I knew that I needed to take it to the mecca of American jewry: New York City!
And so, I applied to the United Solo Festival and my piece was chosen. But getting to New York is expensive and this Kickstarter will help me pay for airfare, shipping props for the show, and advertising it around town. This money will be integral in getting the show off the ground and making sure that I have an audience to see it.
Any little bit that you can contribute would help and if you happen to be in New York on October 13 you can get tickets for the show at http://unitedsolo.org/us/ufest. It is on 42nd street and I will be super excited to see you.
Lots of Love,
