About this project
Welcome to The Edge – skirmish miniature wargame set in post-apocalyptic, steampunk universe. We are asking for your support to bring this unique project into life and deliver you combination of fresh gaming experience, high quality miniatures and original universe.

The Edge is planned to be a standalone universe with a long term development plan. One of our goals is to keep the feeling of consistency in our story and models. We are dedicated to create a great universe with compelling story and grim, steampunk environment, supported by well-thought and fun to play mechanics and the best quality models.
Models will be set tin 35mm scale and will range from smaller infantry through beasts and vehicles to huge constructs and gigantic monsters. Everything will be cast in quality resin to ensure highest level of detail.
IMPORTANT NOTE: In those pledges miniatures will be unassembled and unpainted.
Shipping rates are only pre-defined for starter sets pledges – if you will be modifying pledges or ordering single miniatures – shipping rate will be calculated individually. Shipping may vary from 5GBP for a single miniatures to larger amounts.
Any additional shipping cost will be required before the miniatures will ship.

The world of The Edge was shattered by a cataclysm ("Day of Jugment" as the Chapter calls it) that put humanity on its knees. When everything seemed lost, the remnants of the population were united by a priest of The One - Monotheistic, technological God. By using remaining crystals from the cataclysm, the priest created technologically advanced machines and led humanity from the verge of destruction to a new golden era.
But time of peace did not last for long. It turned out that crystals were not the only thing left by meteors – deep in craters small portals had been laying hidden, waiting patiently. Demons emerged from them and an invasion that flooded the land begun. At first, it was not even a fight – it was a slaughter, a perfect invasion plan executed step by step without a fail. After some time Chapter was able to produce military technology that made the fight possible – but even aided by the powerful Angels of Death, believed to be the avatars of The One himself, they were sill losing one battle after another. Humans were adapting, developing new deadly technologies in haste however, even with all of their efforts, the Demons were still undefeated.
Then a certain event took place that no one was expecting, after one of the bloody battles, under unusual circumstances a new being came to life. Neither human nor machine, a creature that started feasting on the battlefield absorbing both flesh and mechanical parts, constantly evolving. Faceless creatures, without soul, emotion or mind – wandering through land and consuming everything in their way. They began to spread without any control and even if at first ignored by both Demons and Chapter, at one point they became a force that changed the whole face of the conflict. Faceless were one of the reasonsDemon invasion under the walls of Eld-Hain was broken, right before the first human refuge that was about to fall. All the communication attempts with them failed so far.

Our ambition is to create mechanics which are “easy to learn and hard to master”. Our rules will be simple and intuitive – all the complexity will be brought by units' special active and passive abilities.
We want to use years of our experience, gained from playing board games, miniature wargaming and TCG card games. Strategy will be a really important factor, and taking various approaches will be possible thanks to crystal mechanics. By introducing special spells cards we want to give players tools for creating “turn the tide” moments in the game flow.
In our mechanics, as well as in the universe, we want to put a very strong emphasis on crystals – ultimate source of power that each faction desires for their own reasons.
Players will start with a few crystal tokens which will serve them as mana pool refreshing after every turn. The more crystals you have – the more powerful spells and abilities you will be able to cast. One of the core mechanics will be gathering crystals on the battlefield – then each fraction will have their own additional way of earning crystals.
Players will start with a certain set of special spell cards that they will choose as a “deck” which will have the potential to globally influence the battlefield. Their effects will vary and each faction will have a different mechanics. In addition to that almost every unit will have a special ability (or more than one) – active or passive.
We want to put a lot of exciting “AHA!” moments and abilities that will force players to change strategies in the middle of the game. Global spells will have a lot of impact on what is happening on the board – though the the most powerful ones will require a lot of crystals.

Our miniatures will be cast in Poland so we can personally vouch for their quality.
We are experienced in shipping both shipping both, whole armies, as well as single units. We will put additional effort to ensure you will get you miniatures safe.
Starter sets will be send with UPS services.
We always received enormous support from awesome wargaming community and it was no different with The Edge project. As always, we will put our best effort in giving it back! Anyone who will help us make The Edge a reality and back this project, will have access to special painting tutorials for our miniatures, featuring various professional techniques.
We will be also adding other materials such as story books, campaigns and more!
The Edge is an ambitious, long-term project started by people behind Awaken Realms – one of the world’s biggest model painting studio. After spending tons of hours on painting various miniatures we finally decided to use all our experience and knowledge and take things to the next level. Creating our own universe and a miniature game based on it was always our greatest ambition. One day we decided to follow our dreams and finally bring it into reality.
The Edge project you are currently looking at took a lot of sleepless nights, great effort and tons of coffee – but left a feeling of fulfillment and pride. We are more than happy to show you fruits of our labour and we deeply hope you will enjoy this world as much as we did creating it!
Passion and inspiration is what drives us, but we deeply believe that to bring our vision to life hard work and fully professional approach is essential. Given our business education and earlier experience with big companies - you can expect that we will do everything to excel and meet your expectations.
In order to bring The Edge into life we are co-operating with very talented and passionate 2D and 3D artists. All of them have left a part of themselves in their work and helped us to create amazing models.
Risks and challenges
This project is still in the making – we have successfully run through the whole process of creating a 3D render, printing it with full details and then cast it in high quality resign. All the gathered knowledge gives us confidence that we will be able to deliver promised quality. But it also taught us, that this is very complicated process and there can be a lot of surprises on the go.
Biggest risk lays in the time of shipping – as The Edge is still under development and there is still a lot of things to do, to deliver best experience.
There is also risk of implementation small changes to the already shown pieces – having said that, changes will be made by us only if we will see that it will significantly improve the overall experience.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
