Smart Plant is a modular, bluetooth and internet controlled smart watering system that monitors your house plant, garden or lawn.
Smart Plant is a modular and portable Bluetooth controlled smart plant watering system that also monitors and tracks soil moisture, environmental temperature and light intensity of your house plant, garden or lawn. It also gives you more emotional and humane communication with your plants when you are around it. And if you are not, our Bluetooth and internet controlled system makes properly, smartly watering and monitoring your plants easier than ever before. You can monitor and water your garden or house plants with your phone from your couch or from anywhere over the world easily. Just put the smart plant next to your plants, never worry again about watering and grow your plants healthier.
Smart Plant consists of a soil moisture sensor, a light and temperature sensor, a smart pump and a LED info screen in case of using without iOS/Android phone. Just place the Smart Plant in the soil next to your plant or in your lawn. It can work both indoor and outdoor.
It automatically turns on and display a smiling face if everything is OK with your plant. Smart Plant regularly measures the soil moisture content, temperature and light. When the soil is too dry or the environment of plant is too hot, the Smart Plant displays different facial expressions according to situation, it also displays sensor values and waters your plants from a container which contains water. The water can even be enriched with a fertilizer.
If you want to use smart plant with your phones, just launch SmartPlant App from your phone and set type of plant you want to monitor and start watering with your Smart Plant device using Smart Plant's plant specific alghorithm. Because different types of plants can have different watering needs. In addition,You can set measurement options or schedule watering periods. You can view current and past environmental conditions of your plants as graphics.
If you want to monitor and water your plants anywhere, at any time. You can do it with Smart Plant Connector . Smart Plants regularly measure light intensity, temperature, the amount of water in the soil surrounding your plants and send that information via the SP Connector to our web service, where you monitor and water plants online. System alerts or informs you about your plants. Just launch your SmartPlant app or open web service with a browser and login your account, that's all.
The SP Connector can communicate with the Smart Plants and Smart Plant Valves using the Bluetooth LE. If you set your Smart Plant for watering with SP Connector and valve (not with internal pump) then when your plant needs water, the connector tells the valve to open. The Smart Valve automatically controls your existing watering system and water your plant adequately. The valve is also designed to automatically shut down if the battery goes out. No flooded gardens, crazy water bills or thirsty plants.
You can check your plants and control your Smart Plant devices from anywhere at any time. Just launch your SmartPlant app or open web service with a browser and login your account, that's all.

Smart Plant Connector's purpose and technical specifiations:
The SP Connector connects your Smart Plant and SP Valve devices with our web service and allow you to control and monitor it from Smart-Plant.info website or SmartPlant app. Devices communicate with the Connector using the Bluetooth LE. Simply configure Connector to connect to your wireless network and you are ready to go.
Smart Plant Valve technical specifications:
The SP Cannector tells to valve that plants needs water . The SP Valve automatically controls your existing water system and water your plant adequately. The valve is also designed to automatically shut down if the battery goes out.

Plants liven up anywhere by adding a sense of airiness and life. That is - of course - if you don't forget to water them, and they shrivel up and die. While our two team members, Ahmet and Naime, live a nomadic life between Istanbul and Ahmet's serving city Gaziantep,these plants at their home are one of the sources of their happiness and peace.
They planted some potted plants in the balcony and in the house together. But, they were always worried about these plants as their plants would be thirsty whenever they leave the house.
So, Ahmet and Şahin decided to design an automatic watering system to ensure that these plants are still alive when they come back to city for the next time. Using a soil sensor, CC2540 based bluetooth 4.0 chip and an Arduino-controlled water pump, they have created a system that will never forget to do it. It monitored the soil humidity of each potted plant, if the humidity is too low, the pump automatically started to water.
The only thing Ahmet should remember was to while refill the water reservoir when he leaves to istanbul.
We’ve been developing Smart Plant system since the previous year and we are finally ready to move to production. Your support will help us to share Smart Plant with the rest of the world.
We need help of the Kickstarter community to finalize the engineering work and the production of the Smart Plant watering devices. We have agreed and have had a deal with manufacturers . We have gained a lot of experience and taken lessons from our previous successful kickstarter project. Now, the only thing we need is your support!
AVI Labs are team of designers, developers and coders.
AVI Labs began life in Gaziantep / Turkey as a mobile software development studio (Fabrikapps - http://www.fabrikapps.com) for distrubiting applications and games coded by Ahmet Vural and his students at vocational high school computer science section.
Ahmet Vural is still working as vocational teacher in GTO Vocational High School and freelance software developer. Last year Fabrikapps comes a new form collabration with Şahin Aslan and his company İstanbul Maket, a 3D Architectural Model Company and named AVI Labs as a partner of İstanbul Maket. Together we create 3D Architectural models, design prototypes and automotion system including remote home control systems.

Risks and challenges
Engineering and Manufacturing
We have some great experiences from our first successful campaign, now our team knows how hard to take a product all the way through the complete development cycle. But we now know what to do and what to not. We know about priorities. Our mistakes will guide us this time with our project.
Manufacturing a product is difficult. You can definitely believe that we learned this from a very hard way. Many Kickstarter projects run into problems securing suppliers and manufacturing services. Thankfully, we passed these ways before but there is always the possibility that our manufacturing process could hit a road bump or two and cause us to miss our anticipated shipping date.
We’ve created the industrial design for Smart Plant and engineered and tested functional prototypes of both devices.The design of external body of smart plant probe is still being finalized before the making final probe. Although minor changes has to do with body components and design for manufacturability, there is always the chance that this can slightly change the look of the product. We’ve also designed an early version of the iOS app . We have a deal for outsourcing Android application. We are confident that if we reach our Kickstarter goal, we’ll have sufficient funds to finance tooling and production costs.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
