About this project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Have you ever wanted to create your own tour? Ever wanted to have your voice frozen in time on one of your favorite band’s actual songs? Ever wanted to be in an album cover photo shoot, in an official music video, or seen on a live DVD? Ever wanted the opportunity to rock on stage with your favorite artists, be backstage, or even play on stage with the band itself? This is your chance.

The world’s first-ever completely interactive global music campaign, “By the people, For the people”. Rock act Avery Watts is giving supporters the chance to fully design a world tour, record on the band’s new album, participate in the filming of the band’s new music videos, take part in the live performance, be on-stage with the band and have fan’s names permanently etched in the official record of tour documents (album liner notes and commemorative tour posters). This is more than just backing one simple project, such as the creating a CD; this is funding, participating and dictating every aspect of an entire music campaign.

Seeking to ignite the spirit of global collaboration while giving opportunities; this project will provide a platform by which everyone will have a chance to choose their own adventure.

PROVIDING OPPORTUNITY: There’s more than just something for the fans/supporters - In each tour location, local unsigned/independent artists and budding professionals will have a chance to get in on the action as well. Local artists/bands (as opening acts), photographers, filmmakers, independent media, aspiring entertainment professionals and music industry enthusiasts will all have a chance to participate in these events and gain experience in ways they may not regularly have access to otherwise.

For the first time, YOU call the shots. Be as involved as you want, come to have fun and watch the show; knowing it was all made possible by you. Some may want to back the project and simply have their name in the special “Thank You” section, some may want the whole enchilada; The choice is yours. This is a chance for your voice to be heard.

IT’S A NUMBERS GAME: If every fan supports by contributing the cost equivalent of an album or show ticket; we will reach this goal in no time. Many hands make for light work.

WHY: Without any outside funding, major label assistance, commercial entities, or dedicated paid staff, the Avery Watts brand has been built as a grass roots initiative; from the ground up. The organization has made it this far because of donated time, volunteer help, friends/family “boot strap funding” and buckets of sweat equity. To date, we have had more requests to play nationally and internationally than we can afford to visit on our own personal funding. As a result, we have been forced to turn down invitations to play live and have to deal with the missed opportunities and exposure; both critical for musical success. From Super Bowl Festival performances to playing live for Team USA at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver; we've had to decline, simply due to lack of funding. Over time we have found that the demand is there, more than ever, but the finances simply are not. It’s time for that to change. We've made it this far on our own, and with your support, we can finally take everything to the next level.

Risks and challenges

GOOD & BAD NEWS: If the base funding is not reached, the good news is that nobody will be charged anything. The bad news is that if we’re even $1.00 short of the project goal, none of this will happen at all.

TOUR ROUTES: Once we reach the base funding amount, we will devise a tour schedule to accommodate venue availability, practicality and traveling logistics. Our objective is to reach all states/countries/territories per our backer’s participation. The amount of locations will be subject to the amount of funding we receive and the availability of venues in those areas. It’s most probable that all proposed locations will not be visited in one trip. We will more than likely create multiple trips in order to visit all of the locations throughout the world. That said; we will eventually make it to YOUR location at some time. If the time frame of the final tour dates doesn't work to your liking, you will have the option to either receive a ticket for a different date, or receive goods in kind to compensate for your contribution amount. All other goods such as the new Avery Watts full-length album and tour merchandise will all arrive at the same time, regardless of tour scheduling.

FUNDING: The larger the funding, the more venues and towns we can visit worldwide; Simple as that. Reaching only the base amount will not ensure that every location on the proposed list is visited. We encourage all backers to contribute as much as possible and help get this project well beyond it's base project goal.
