Aspirations of Kalos is a strategy based game in which you win by ending your turn with 15 or more Aspiration points. Cards can be played by paying Aspiration points or discarding cards from your hand.
Players lose by ending their turn with 0 or less Aspiration points.
In Aspirations of Kalos, you have a champion you build the deck around. Your champion is face up during the game, and is used with a 40 card structure deck.
Each player starts the game with 5 cards. To play cards from the hand, that player either pays aspiration points or discards cards. Champions may use one ability per turn.
40 cards (up to 3 copies of each card)
Up to 10 card sideboard
Only 1 champion ability use per turn
Each player may control only 1 arena at a time.
Conjuration casts can be made anytime, during either players turn.
Each player places a champion face up. That champion remains in play.
Shuffle, and draw 5 cards. Roll a dice to see who goes first.
The player going first will not draw a card at start of turn during the first turn.
At the end of the turn, that player discards down to 7 cards, then passes the turn.
If a player has no cards to draw from their deck, they lose 1 AP for each card they cannot draw.
Conjuration- These casts can be made anytime, during either players turn.
Relics and arenas- these can only be played during your turn, but can be activated at any time.
Only 1 arena may exist on each players side of the battleground.
Cards cost aura. Aura is produced by discarding cards, or paying Aspiration points.
For instance, if a card costs 2, you may pay 1 ap and discard 1 card.
You begin with AP equal to the number on your champion.
+2- this means you gain 2 AP when you use this ability.
-4- this means you lose 4 AP using this ability.
Champion costs cannot be paid by discarding cards.
Only one champion ability may be activated per turn, only during its controllers turn.
Negating a card:
If a cast is negated, it's controller does not lose the AP That would be paid or discard the cards to pay. That cast simply is placed into the discard pile as if it were not activated.
When a cast is claimed to be made, the opponent must then decide to negate the card so nothing would be discarded and no AP would be paid.
