The air quality in your home and at your office impacts your health
Indoor air quality, especially CO2 and humidity levels, has a big impact on your health. Because the breath people exhale is one of the bigger causes of rising indoor CO2 levels, the health risks are most urgent in confined home and office spaces.
Wrong CO2 and humidity levels can be dangerous
Research shows that exposure to high levels of CO2, but also to wrong levels of humidity, are often the cause of annoying health problems. At night, in your bedroom, you may experience a sore throat, mild headaches or a stuffed nose. During the day, in the office, you may experience fatigue, even more headaches and dry or irritated eyes when wearing contact lenses.
As of 800 particles per million (ppm) CO2 levels start to have a negative impact on your health
The AurAir helps you keep your indoor environment healthy
With the new indoor air quality meter of AurAir it is now possible to closely monitor both CO2 and humidity levels in every room or space that is important to you. The AurAir meter fits in every power socket and is easy to read and understand for everybody.
The best way to benefit from the AurAir capabilities is to have one in every room you spend time. Order multiple AurAir units if you want to have a healthy house instead of just a healthy room.
Easy to install
Just plug the AurAir meter into any power socket and it works.
Easy to read
CO2 and humidity levels are easy to read from a distance and are shown in green (good), yellow (mid) and red (bad).
Easy usable socket
You can still use the socket for other electrical devices, AurAir does not switch these devices on or off.
Easy on the right, left, up or down side
Install with the display on the right, left, up or down side. The display will adjust automatically into the correct position.
Easy on the eye
The straightforward design and small size make the AurAir meter fit into any interior, modern or traditional.
Monitor your indoor air quality from wherever you are
Because the AurAir meter is fully IoT driven, the CO2 and humidity measurements can not only be monitored directly on the device itself, but also on any other connected device.
Monitor on Display
The AurAir meter itself has an easy to read and understand display that can show up to 24 hours of history.
Monitor on Smartphone
The AurAir CO2 and humidity measurements can be monitored easily on your smartphone.
Monitor on any Device
The WiFi connection enables you to see current and full historical measurements alike, on any device.
The AurAir Air Quality monitor is fully IoT driven
Connect to the Cloud and to home automation servers like Domoticz or OpenHab. Have any device or server connect to the AurAir and fully automatically manage CO2 levels using the AurAir REST API.

In 2010 Lisa's new single family home was finished after building for a year. A durable and recyclable house was her starting point, extremely insulated, using zero tropical wood and low energy usage were the magical words. This worked out very well, as it's using less energy than a detached townhouse.
However, the insulation also caused an unforeseen problem: the air in the house became unhealthy very rapidly despite the use of a ventilation system. Waking up in the mornings with a sore throat, watery eyes and a headache was no fun, so Lisa set out to find the cause of it and found it pretty quickly: the bad air inside the house.
A solution turned out hard to find, as, until now no affordable IoT solutions were available that could integrate into Lisa’s house. Integrate into Lisa’s house? Yes, Lisa's house is one of the first smart homes in the Netherlands and is using close to 1.000 sensors and actors in its house automation system. For this reason every new component must have IoT capability.
Unable to buy something of the shelf, Lisa started to develop her own solution. It became better and better and at some point last year, after 8 years of research and development, Lisa had created a solution that many others, sharing the same concerns about indoor air-quality, were enthusiastic about. And so AurAir was born...

Risks and challenges
We have finished all of the electronic modules designing and prototype testing. We also handed out 20 test versions to people for real life testing.
For the production of the units, we are currently negotiating with local factories. There is always risk when manufacturing complex systems such as electronics.
The product could fall short of expectations when used and abused in the real world. We have done a lot of testing by ourselves, and with the help of friends, family and beta testers, but it's all been limited to the past few months. It's possible that in real life the product may be subjected to much more wear and tear than anticipated, or put in situations or environments we hadn't thought of. However, we have gone out of our way to perform tests to measure resistance to breaking and other damage and the product has stood up well to that abuse, so we're confident it will be able to handle whatever its users put it through.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
