About

Dwarf meeples are labeled with a number that represents the length of the dwarves’ beard. The bigger the number, the longer the beard. Players take turns performing dwarf actions one at a time, starting from the lowest beard numbers to the highest in turn order.

You may bump an opponent's dwarf if your dwarf's beard is bigger than theirs. Dislodge the bumped dwarf claims another space and performs the action. Positioning your dwarves to get bumped is part of the strategy since you get an extra action with that dwarf.

The bumped dwarf claims another space and performs the action. Positioning your dwarves to get bumped is part of the strategy since you get an extra action with that dwarf.

Automa decks are used to simulate the actions of another player in the game. The automa players claim action spaces, score points, fight dragons, and collect treasure like normal players. The automa cards are simple to use and do not have a lot of overhead often seen in other solo variants.

Automa players score points throughout the game. This helps create tension and fun throughout the game, knowing you can lose the game to the automa player. There are three levels of difficulty to play so you can adjust the difficulty as you get better at playing Treasure Mountain.

Risks and challenges

Experience to Complete the Project
August games is managed by a group of gamers with lots of business experience in regards to printing, game production, distribution, design, and project management. We identified the main area of risk to be game play, production, distribution and cash flow.

This is our second Kickstarter after funding 200% on our last project. We feel we are even better prepared now. We have learned a lot.

Game Development
Treasure Mountain has been in development for five years and it has been put through its paces with multiple rounds of blind playtesting by some of the best gamer minds in the country. We are extremely confident Treasure Mountain is ready.

Production
We leveraged our printing experience along with nine months of preparation time to ensure we fully covered all aspects of the production for Treasure Mountain. We interviewed almost a dozen manufacturers and decided to go with an experienced company with a strong belief in good communication.

Art
Art is important to us. We are continuing to work with Mac Hillier, who did the art for Dragon Brew. The art for Treasure Mountain is 100% done so there will be no delays to production.

Distribution
We are partnering with Quartermaster Logistics for our backer reward fulfillment and warehousing. Quartermaster is the sister company of CoolStuffInc.com, a business that has been shipping games for over 14 years to customers around the world. Quartermaster Logistics will ensure your packages arrive safe and on time as every game is professionally packed and protected.

Cash Flow
Our business experience has taught us the importance of cash flow to these sorts of projects. We worked hard on the budget to bring Treasure Mountain to the market. We raised double the amount of capital we thought we would need to guarantee a lack of capital would not cause Treasure Mountain to fail.
