- "It is a heck of a lot of fun...Good stuff!!" - Undead Viking (Watch Video)
- "There is a lot of interesting game play. There is some fun decision making." - Dukes of Dice (Watch Video)
Dragon Brew takes place in the fantasy kingdom of Brumancia where years of war and conflict have been replaced with competitive beer brewing. Each player chooses a fantasy race, each with its own unique ability, and takes on the role of a head brewer maintaining peace by winning prizes at the annual DragonKeep beer festival.
Players build brewery estates by generating gold to expand their brewery, harvesting grain and exotic ingredients, researching new recipes, and brewing fantastical beers. In order to earn the top prize, and the victory points that go along with such prestige, players must adapt their recipes to the ever-changing preferences of the beer festival judges. The winner of the game is the player with the most victory points at the end of three game years.

How to Play Dragon Brew
The Art of Dragon Brew
We have worked for over two years on Dragon Brew in order to launch this campaign. We love the tabletop hobby and are proud of the contribution we are able to make to the community with Dragon Brew. We sincerely hope you enjoy our game with your friends and family.
We would like to take this moment to thank several people who have provided information and support over the last two years:
Cosmic Wombat Games - Thank you Jeff, for your support and example of perseverance in launching a Kickstarter campaign.
Mac Hillier - Thank you for using your artistic talent and vision to create the world of Dragon Brew. I am sure you will never have a project with so many oppressed gnomes ever again. Thank you!
Gamelyn Games - Thank you Michael Coe, for your help and setting an example for other fledgling game publishers on how to launch amazing tabletop products.
Our Playtesters - Lastly, we would like to thank our playtesters for suffering through the early versions of Dragon Brew and helping to make Dragon Brew the game it is today. We would not be where we are today without you. Thank you!
Risks and challenges
August games is managed by a group of gamers with lots of business experience in regards to printing, game production, distribution, design, and project management. We identified the main area of risk to be game play, production, distribution and cash flow.
Dragon Brew has been in development for two years and it has been put through its paces with multiple rounds of blind playtesting by some of the best gamer minds in the country. We are extremely confident Dragon Brew is both balanced and fun to play. We strive for full transparency and have provided a link to a draft copy of the rulebook in this campaign.
We leveraged our printing experience along with nine months of preparation time to ensure we fully covered all aspects of the production for Dragon Brew. We interviewed almost a dozen manufacturers and decided to go with an experienced company with a strong belief in good communication. They were not the cheapest bid, but we considered their ability to clearly communicate the requirements for Dragon Brew critical to our success.
Art is important to us. Like most gamers we love good art and found an amazing artist to work with for Dragon Brew. He started on the art in April 2016 and finished the core artwork for the game in August 2016. We have reserved his time during this campaign so that any stretch goal images will be completed in no less than thirty days after the conclusion of this campaign. We do not want unfinished art holding back our production and product delivery schedule.
We are partnering with Quartermaster Logistics for our backer reward fulfillment and warehousing. Quartermaster is the sister company of CoolStuffInc.com, a business that has been shipping games for over 14 years to customers around the world. Quartermaster Logistics will ensure your packages arrive safe and on time as every game is professionally packed and protected.
Our business experience has taught us the importance of cash flow to these sorts of projects. We worked hard on the budget to bring Dragon Brew to the market. We raised double the amount of capital we thought we would need to guarantee a lack of capital would not cause Dragon Brew to fail.
We have prepared for two years to bring Dragon Brew to Kickstarter and feel we are prepared and ready to overcome any last minute challenges that may arise.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
