After 4 years of living with my family in Switzerland, I'm coming back to the United States with a heart full of inspiration...and a suitcase full of new songs. This summer, we’ll be spending several weeks recording in Nashville, TN to bring this new music to life.
The new album is called 1,000 Different Colors. These are worship songs; songs about hope and believing God is working, even in the difficult times. They are life songs out of our experiences and lessons learned while we were living in Switzerland; songs about seeing God in new ways. In the diversity of nature, in all the different cultures and all the different people we meet, God is showing us 1,000 Different Colors of who He is.
We have a basic budget for this album, and we could make a simple recording with these funds. Producer Stephen Leiweke (Plumb, Jars of Clay, Margaret Becker, Charlie Peacock) is already on board for this project. But as I pray for the album, and Doug and I talk over every detail together, we believe that we are not supposed to make this record alone.
This is the vision: All of us, from different cultures and backgrounds, from all over the world, coming together to make this music…we are 1,000 different colors, and we serve the one true God, and we are making this music for Him together.
We can make a better record with your support. Your financial contribution will make it fuller, your prayers will support us, your comments and encouragement will mean so much to the musicians in the studio as the project is being made.
In return for your contribution, you get all kinds of great rewards. You'll get a free download of the new album as soon as it's ready, before anyone else hears the first downbeat. You can get the unreleased B-side recordings of songs that didn't make the record. Heck, I will come to your house, perform a concert for you and your friends, and hand out signed copies of the new CD like they're glasses of water.
You can get a free session to discuss your songwriting or your artistry, or a songwriting/artistry seminar for your friends or your church team. I've been teaching and working with international artists in Zurich, Switzerland for the last several years, so I have lots to share with you about inspiration, creative community, and your personal art having and impact in the world.
These are just a few of my ways to say "thanks" for your contribution. I want it to be totally worth it for you. So take a closer look at the full list here at the kickstarter page.
A few important details: The project here at kickstarter will not be funded unless we meet our goal of $12,000. That’s why we’ve kept the goal amount low. We can totally surpass our goal, and every penny will go to the making of the music.
The greatest benefit is that we all get to do this together. I will post updates for everyone here at kickstarter, so you will know when we're tracking drums, when I'm singing the vocals, when we're in the mixing phase. You can send in your comments. Your encouragement and prayers will be so great.
There is power in agreement, strength in numbers, and it means a lot to the musicians in the studio that you are tracking with us, ready to be the first to hear the music when it's finally done.
Thanks for your friendship, your encouragement, for wanting good music to be made about God. He is so awesome, and worth all our hope and effort to serve Him, to bring people closer to Him in worship. It's my hope that these songs will do just that. Please join me.
Thanks and may God bless you!!!
